"Looks like the threat concern in Hanover goes beyond the stadium where the friendly was due to take place:

Concert at 14,000-capacity TUI Arena in Hannover also evacuated

Police tell abc threat concerns whole of #Hannover, not just stadium. Teams were not in stadium, evacuated to undisclosed location #GERNED"

If a concert was attacked and a football game was attacked in the same city, I can't even imagine the reaction. An exact copy-cat attack just thre days after the first, there would be outrage towards the authorities. Probably better safe than sorry.

Might be a silly question but are there any Brighton players around the stadium in Germany?

Even this far out you can see the Euros being a complete disaster with games being called off at the last moment left, right and centre. Either that or security cordons so tight it sucks the spirit and atmosphere out of the whole event.

And admit defeat to a free Europe doubt it

True.
When will they realise that a free Europe is a Europe where the right people with the right accreditation can move freely between countries after appropriate checks at borders. Not the utter clusterfvck that they have precipitated. Morons.

Suggestion is the vehicle was intended to be detonated INSIDE the stadium.

Nothing on BBC or Channel 4 website. Sounds like Twitter bollocks (hopefully). Why do people do that?

Either that or security cordons so tight it sucks the spirit and atmosphere out of the whole event.

The same was thought with the Athens Olympics in 2004 due to al-Qaeda. Yes, security was very tight, but didn't have any effect on the atmosphere. I remember our coach transport to and from the hotel being checked for explosives everytime we when in and out the hotel grounds.

The head of Hanover police, Volker Kluwe, said they had received “concrete information that someone was planning to set off explosives inside the stadium” approximately 15 minutes after the gates of the stadium were opened.

Police have also evacuated the Tui Arena concert hall, which was due to host a gig by the band Söhne Mannheims at 8pm tonight.

Police say they’re not commenting further for now. We are still waiting for the interior ministry’s press conference to begin.
