Doesn't German football have the largest number of female match goers in Europe? I love German fan culture because they've retained what made English football so popular in the first place. You can go to the game and stand with your mates, you don't have to pay an absolute fortune to get in and you can have a beer without being treated like a criminal.

It is disgusting the treatment fans get in England.

I actually go with a group that is mainly girls.. And you can smoke in the stadium and they have beer sellers walking around..
Only time I have seen any problems was a UEFA game against Palermo about 7/8 years ago...

Nonsense. I've been to Dortmund and the atmosphere was amazing, and there were loads of women and kids there. Just as many as you see at the Amex, if not more.

This . Dortmund is a cracking place. The terrace behind the goal is something else!

Fair enough! Was just going on the beginning of the video.

Very admirable the way the Germans do it but they haven't had our history, Heysel, Hillsborough etc so it is not comparable - stadiums were forcible changed here and they won't ever go back, so we will never get comparable atmosphere

Now this is how they do it. Amazing!

Can you imagine the North stand attempting this? Most of them are still buying pies 2 minutes before kick off.

That game is a local Derby.

I went down to Munich on my travels many years ago. The train was full of Schalke fans on their way to play 1860. Their fans were something else.

Get yourself to Arsenal Wednesday week. Promises to be a good night, sadly the Arse have only given us 2500 tickets.

Germans are brilliant. Amazing country, proper industry, great beer and real football.

The only reason so many people here are negative towards them is because of the wars. Get over it, they have.

...........and a season ticket to stand at Dortmund, INCLUDING the group stages of Champions League, is only 225 Euro.

Average crowds in the Bundesliga are 45,100, far exceeding those of the Premiership, and only 22% of players are foreign, compared to 65% in the EPL.

Only hate the Germans when it comes to playing against them at the football.

The Germans seem to do everything better than us sadly.

Hats off to them. I'd love to live in Germany.

Berlin has more than twenty different teams in the city and not one in the top flight!

And as for enjoying a beer at the games, not only can you do so with ease, throughout the match, but you just know it's gonna be the good stuff. No Fosters in sight

Germany is so far ahead of us it the football sense it is embarrassing no clubs are aloud to be majority owned by foreigners, after the shambles that was their 2002 World Cup showing they completely shook up the whole system and 1 billion euros was invested by their FA. That is now bearing fruits with the calibre of player currently coming through. We in my opinion are 20 years behind them now.

In football terms yes, but not in all ways. Music, humour etc we are pretty damn good at.

How do you explain the equally excellent atmosphere at the Bundesliga all-seater stadia then?

The Berliner Olympiastadion is all-seater and has an amazing atmosphere. The seat argument is a red-herring.

Germany has made some very profound contributions to music especially with Krautrock and in the electronic sphere. Had the German's not been experimenting in the 60s and 70s the musical landscape would be very different.
