I blame the establishment, if thry werent such a self centred bunch of ****s things like this wouldnt happen.

It’s great, labour and the tories need to f*** off and die, permanently.
And let people like Galloway take over? There is a lot wrong with both Labour and more wrong with the Tories but letting in extremist of either end of the spectrum is plain disastrous.

I can only assume that a thread has been started by someone I have on ignore. Fancy that.

So the Daily Mail have got Galloway back into parliament as the MP for Gaza.

By storing and releasing candidate credibility-ending pro Gaza cant from the Labour candidate till it was too late for labour to change him

As a result Parliament gets the catnip MP who is attracting the support of all the Gaza-obsessed antisemites (who 'obviously' aren't antisemitic). Endorsed by antisemites previously thrown out of the Labour party. And Nick Griffin, the BNP oaf whose career was destroyed when he was held up to scrutiny on question time.

If this has done anything it has put a clear red line between Starmer's labour and all the disaffected fools who still think the invasion of Israel by Hamas, the beheadings of babies and the torture has absolutely nothing to do with the opportunity given to Bibi to smite the Palestinians, and the undoubtedly dreadful massacre of Palestinians.

Galloway is pro-Putin. He is pro-Iran. He won't share a platform with a Jew. I can understand (though deplore) 40% of Rochdale's working class (perhaps gullble, perhaps uneducated) Muslim voters voting Galloway. I condemn non-Muslim 'educated' voters of the so-called left voting for him.

There had to be strange circumstances for this to be the outcome of a FPTP bi-election. One of the arguments in favour of PR is that when an extremist is elected this apparently reveals to the nation how dangerous and foolish they are. We shall see. A Jewish Brit on R5 now thinks this will open the door to the election of more 'jew-haters', and thinks 'we are now finished in the UK'.

Anyway, thanks, Daily Mail. Always putting Britain First
Blame Starmer for not doing his due dilligence to prevent an alleged anti-semite standing for the Labour Party and for not acting sooner to have them removed from the ballot paper.

Galloway stood on a pro-Palestinian ticket in Rochdale. The result, and the high turnout, demonstrates how far out of step both Sunak and Starmer are with the majority of the British public over the genocide in Gaza.

The political spectrum isn't a linear line with hard left populists like Galloway at one end and hard right fascists like Griffin at the other.

It's more like a circle where these 2 dangerous lunatics meet and ideologies converge, with the centre ground 180 degrees from both.

Sorry, it isn't a straight line - but Horseshoe (or circle) political theory is horseshit. It's just a way for centrists to distance themselves from either end of the political spectrum.

A case in point. A 'centrist' in Israel would be viewed as being a 'right wing extremist' in other countries.

To quote the words of David Brent old boy “You’ve got to look at whole pie” 😂
But you're looking at the whole pie and also the apple crumble on the other side of the kitchen!

Oh no a man has expressed socialist values! Let's now start throwing every genocidal leader ever at him!!!!!!!

So boring.
Saddam was an honourable man though ? Putin isn't so bad ?

It wasn't a literal comment.

I'm 'left leaning' btw

He's not an antisemite though is he
Galloway is known to be highly litigious to anyone who claims that, he has successfully sued in the past which is why you don't tend to see journalists or politicians claiming that. The only bigotry I can see him glorying in is his his anti-trans views, but that puts him more in common with the Tories and Labour party these days

Galloway is a prick. What little credibility he had left disappeared when he pretended to be a cat in Celebrity Big Brother.

And I don't see how losing Rochdale is Starmer's worst nightmare. Surely that would be losing a General Election to a buffooon like Boris or Liz Truss?

Point of order. It isn’t genocide, but I know what you mean. It’s indiscriminate killing, maybe. (aka collateral). But IDF aren’t killing everyone that’s a Palestinian just because or the casualty rate would be a lot lot higher. Hundreds of thousands if not million+

Galloway was sacked by Talkradio for an anti semitic tweet.

He’s also on record as supporting Farage.

Griffin does this crap all the time, it's just for attention as he knows dumb journalists who hate Galloway will put his name back in the newspapers. Griffin hates Galloway's politics because Griffin is a virulent Islamophobe.

This nonsense about diametrical opposites supposedly agreeing with each other is called "horseshoe" theory but it's better called horseshit theory because it falls apart as soon as you look at the actual political issues.

Take the two biggest issues in the Rochdale by-election, service cuts and the Gaza genocide. On these two issues, it's the Centre and Right who agree with each other, with the Left opposing.

Centrists think it's a regrettable neccessity that cuts imposed by rightwing governments get passed on to local residents, you are seeing an echo of this in Brighton now with the new Labour council axing loads of services, supported by the Right, opposed by the Left.

Then of course there is the Gaza genocide. Centrists will do sad-face about the dead civilians and kids but will agree with the Right that no action should be taken against Israel for their murderous policies. Only the Left believes Israel needs to be sanctioned to avoid Palestinians being wiped out.
