Used to watch Colditz with my mum every Tuesday ?
Commander Marsh went mad while pretending to be didnt he ?

Think the first series was on Thursdays and the second on Mondays. I remember watching it with my Dad as during the three day week, the power came back on just in time to watch it!

SPOILER alert

It appears Marsh has pulled off his audacious escape but a letter from his wife to Colonel Preston confirms the horrible truth. Superb performance from Michael Bryant and also from Bernard Kay as the German Corporal who befriends him

Now, here's someone I haven't thought of in years but really liked his acting style. RIP.

Also appeared in one of British Drama's finest hours, the December 1972 episode of Colditz, Tweedledum where Wing Commander Marsh (Michael Bryant) attempts to escape by feigning insanity.

Geoffrey Palmer's doctor is one of the few who know the plan...

If you've never seen it, it's worth tracking down. A truly moving hour of television.

RiP Geoffrey.
