But it not just one issue is it?
Getting out of the EU yes,But the EU itself is more than one issue.
Shorted sighted No we were fine without the EU before and we be fine without them again.
As for the Greens lol ..No comment.

But it is just ONE issue. The scale of that issue is a completely seperate debate. If you're going to vote for a party because of ONE policy and that is, im afraid, very short sighted. Do you care about what else they have to say or are you ok with whatever their stance is on education, welfare etc is as long as they deliver a referendum on Europe? You scoff at the Greens but I would argue the Greens are more in keeping with traditional Labour views AND they want a referendum, so as someone who says they are "Labour through and through" surely your vote should go to them instead of UKIP.

That list is funny, did they actually publish that?
Taking just one point, the healthcare part. Both Farage and Paul Nutall have stated there is no future for the NHS in modern Britain and that private companies should run the NHS in a major streamlining (cost cutting) process.

Farage June '14
“I genuinely do think, when you... occasionally hear of a big businessman that says he’d like to run the National Health Service and streamline it, and get better value for money, I think that’s the approach we’ve got to take.”

I find this enormously crazy, that there are folk in this country that honestly are thinking of voting ukip.

Stewart Lee's bed sh!t joke is getting more and more real everyday.

Completely agree. I've been trying to get people to talk about their other policies (which is apparently a sign of desperation on my part) but all anyone wants to chat about is Europe and immigration. To back a party when you know next to nothing about any of their other policies is frankly quite scary.

No it doesn't but voting shouldn't be about sending a message. It should be about voting for the party that best represent your views as a whole.

And yet our economy has grown enough in the last 4 years under the Tories to warrant a 20% increase in EU tax.

You're a sensible poster, and a UKIP voter. Where would the 25% above have gone if they had not been a General Election option ?

As the owner of a small Limited Company, the Tories seem to do less damage to people like me than the other Parties, who are overwhelmingly shit in their outlook towards people who want to make money.

So by default them; Plus I have met Nick Herbert (my MP) and as a person he seems OK (openly Gay Tory MP - who would have thought it?)

He does seem like a nice chap but I can tell you from first hand experience he is full of spin and false promises. Who'd have thought it.

Indeed; Tories are absolute liars (although I'm not a big fan of Labour either).

If the economic crash in 2008 was caused by Labour's economic recklessness, why did the rest of Western Europe and the United States suffer the same meltdown and recession. No Tory has ever answered this question!

The 2008 crash was a result of three decades of deregulation, and 'the market knows best' ideology which the Tories and New Labour (Tory-lite) were in thrall to (and still are).

Totally agree, spot on!

I will struggle to vote this time as I have no faith in any of them. I don't see how we still have a democracy, we vote as we support certain policies and then none are delivered they just do as they please which is lining their own pockets.

Yes but that's how people have voted for Labour and Tory for years. They only vote for them because they trusted them to do the right things, nobody really sits down and reads what they can offer, they go with who sounds the most convincing and who is more relevant at the time, which at this time is UKIP. UKIP have got it right on immigration and they have definitely got it right on the EU, so why has it been so difficult and taken so long for the other parties to approach these issues. Doesn't matter if immigration hasn't personally effected people, they still don't trust the main parties on the EU or to deliver a responsible plan on immigration.

Lots of people are genuinely worried where this country is heading, what it might be and feel like in years to come, they are worried they are going to the bottom of the pile as it is, and feel like continued immigration is just going to make things harder for them and their children in the long run.

I have put down Tory,i have always voted Tory but to be honest i am kidding myself my vote will probably go to UKIP.For me personally this election is a ONE policy vote.I am one of those people that wants out of Europe,i therefore want the referendum option.I am not convinced the anti europe brigade will even win a referendum but i believe its time to ask the country again what they want,we are so far removed from our initial involvement in the EEC it verges from the taking the piss to the criminal.(in my opinion)

I am less trustful every day that the tories will deliver a referendum,Cameron will back out and lie just like Blair did on the issue.Labour and lib dems have made it clear a referendum is not something they wish to give the public. The idea of everyone voting Green to get a referendum is laughable, yes they are an Old Labour Socialist party with pretty bells on but Arthur Scargills Socialist Labour Party also want out of Europe and a referendum.......why not tell people to vote for them? The reality is if you want a referendum you have more chance with UKIP than you do Greens......its not rocket science.

As for being short sighted....not really,i am happy to admit for this election and every further election policies for me are out the window until someone delivers a referendum on Europe,UKIP could have a policy of hooking up the UK and sailing the whole island off to the gulf of mexico........i wouldnt care my first question would still be when is the referendum?

Its a good ruse though trying to distract UKIP supporters with views on various policies,i expect to see much more of this from their opponents in the coming months.

The thing is the name is on the tin,you dont need to ask anymore questions

You're a sensible poster, and a UKIP voter. Where would the 25% above have gone if they had not been a General Election option ?

Good question and one I'd have thought you were far more qualified to answer !

Anyway, I would suspect over half of that 25% are disaffected Tories. Some might even be UKIP supporters who until now have not voted UKIP because it was a wasted vote ? The next biggest group I would think are Lib Dems - it's just a guess, but if you were pissed off with your party AND wanted to give the Tories a kicking ( which I would imagine many Lib Dems do ) then UKIP could be seen as the perfect foil. They're not going to win power but a vote for UKIP hurts the Tories.

Despite many denials, I really do think Labour have lost votes to UKIP. Labour used to be very anti-EU and I would imagine there are still some hard core Labour voters against the EU. The recent by-election where UKIP came a very close second suggests Labour are at risk as well. Yes, I know Labour still polled roughly the same vote but for an opposition party to have such a close run vote, in one of their strong seats, and with the current government carrying out such unpopular policies ( cuts being even bigger than Thatcher would have dreamt of ) - Labour should have walked it.

I guess after that waffle the quick answer is ..... I have no bloody idea !

Maybe UKIP are being underestimated in the polls. I expected them to be strong on the poll but not be leading...
They'll affect the marginals but won't get the seats to represent their popularity. They are by and large right wing and ironically the right wing turned their nose up to the suggestion of a form of proportional representation. PR would get them more seats.
