The debate, so far at least, seems to be so much more professional and credible than ITV's effort.

One might think that with 7 representatives, it's far less confrontational than a duel.

There's still the opportunity for robust debate, especially over immigration now, but it's a lot more measured generally.

And the presenter isn't as weak as warm piss.

As ref, she's let the game flow, allowed some committed challenges and whistled fairly quickly to stop play when needed.

I have to say I think the Green and Lib Dem representatives came across very well. As always Stephen Flynn talks a lot of sense and the only person standing up to Farage.

Never that convinced by Rayner but doesn't help that awful Mordaunt talked over her at every opportunity (but that's partly because Mordaunt is a better orator, even if she's telling lies most of the time).

90 minutes, ditching the silly tiny slots to speak and no zzzzz ads was the game-changer. It was all less frenetic.
