We have chatted on numerous occasions from 'across the garden hedge'. I enjoy the conversations. Sometimes, however, you need to step back and stop campaigning. Yes, there is a lot at stake and folk are uncertain. You may have seen my post calling for a Corbyn wipe out, before the election, so we can start again with a new labour. I was taking the broader view (which looks like it was tactically misconceived, as it happens). You won't persuade anyone by making what are frankly highly nuanced partisan point scorey posts, dragging up quotes from past persons, or persons' past(s). You lose all credibility as an unbiased (well, we are all biased....but) commentator, and just come across as a 'I'll vote for a pig if it has a blue rosette' type. I know you can do better than that!

I have long since given up trying to persuade people of anything (especially the Corbyn disciples) just get a tad annoyed at being called a hypocrite by hypocrites who would obviously vote for anyone/anything with a red rosette on. Saying that we are teetering on the political ledge and I consider it my civic duty to argue my corner against the far left apologists!

The Parliamentary Labour Party are in full cry at the outrage of the Tories canoodling up to the horrible DUP but most of the very same people would have happily put up with a deal if it meant they could get into power. Rank hypocrisy?

From some - very probably. However it is not possible to know which Labour MPs were involved in this so hard to say what the level of hypocrisy is. I just think it right to speak up against such a deal (as you yourself have done)

Politics is politics and this was a deal that had to be done. DUP drove a hard bargain as expected. But everyone knows the deal only had to be done as a result of May's hubris and incompetence. And everyone knew they were likely to take a huge hit for doing it. Which they now will. They really can't afford another election any time soon. But brexit looms and we all know what happens when the Tories and the EU collide.
My money is still on Corbyn being prime minister within a year. And the world won't end. Britain won't turn into Venezuela. We wont find the IRA under our beds. The wheels will keep turning. And who knows, we may end up with a better, fairer society. And we may even avoid relegation.
