Don't forget your savings need to be exhausted before they start tapping in to the value of your home. They have made it sound like the Tories will just take your home anyway to shit everyone up, or am I wrong?

I assume that is the case but that's kind of the point I'm making, the least well off don't have any savings to exhaust so will have to (again an assumption) effectively remortgage their home.

Are all the Tory voters being a bit bashful/ashamed in the latest poll on this thread, or is there a genuine upheaval in process? Sadly, suspect the former.

Considering the sustained and vitriolic onslaught from the leftards, I also suspect it is the former... but who knows??

my other half knows quite a older generation from the Eastbourne area, they aren't nearly as worried about the "dementia tax" as left wing posters, politicians and Daily Mail headline writers. one told her that's what you save for, to pay for your old age, which is straight from the manifesto.

aside from that though i dont think Ansell has a strong following and the few hundred majority has to be a risk.

There are plenty of elderly home owners our their that do not have any savings worth talking about, those are the ones that are fearful.

What 50% on here are voting Labour.

I'm a Tory voter and find it ****ing hilarious.

As proven on this thread and various TV debates, the left wing just shout louder, wave their arms around more, and refuse to listen to any view that doesn't fit into their own world. I suppose the poll on here gives the left something to brag and be cheerful about.

Come Friday, when people are away from the hysteria of places like this, the true opinion poll will be published.

I would have thought after the last two major votes in this country, no one would be paying the slightest attention to the latest polls.

Interesting to see what happen in my seat in West Oxford, absolutely neck and neck Tory v Libs. You Gov saying too close to call

Is it this one? Tories are huge favourites with the bookies

That You Gov model seems to rely on the youth vote turning out. I think they'll be some increase from 2015 but nothing to get particularly excited about.

I will be keeping my eye out for reports of queues of 18-24 year olds outside polling stations on Thursday....

I am finding increasingly more and increasingly vitriolic obnoxious bullshit coming coming from the right towards those on the left recently (such as your post quoted and others), so just maybe those on the left are being a bit bashful/ashamed.

I think anyone getting excited about the polls as a genuine prediction are going to be sorely dissapointed come Friday morning. That said, they do give a decent insight into how the general view has shifted and I think May will be looking over her shoulder at her own party. She's looked dreadful this campaign and the polls HAVE reflected that.

Whatever your view, surely having this *edit* woman *edit* as Home Secretary should be enough for any sane person not to vote Labour. She will in control of our safety. I wouldn't put her in sole control of a kettle.

Funny you should mention a kettle... (see above post).

I think most people are probably more thoughtful than to discount an entire party based one shadow minister. I can't defend her, she's a shambles, but if you look on the other side Boris Johnson is just as bad.

I'm a bit surprised how riled the right is getting in general. They're still well ahead.

And the reason they're not still 20% ahead is because they complacently forgot to check the credentials of their leader before they all got in line behind her.

Hard to disagree about Boris, other than one small detail. People seem to like Boris. He may be a bumbling buffoon, but he does make people laugh and does seem to be able to get along with people and influance them because of it.

Whereas Dianne Abbott, is an arrogant condescending nasty piece of work, who seems to think, if she say something, no one has the right to question her.

I know. Nothing better than winding up the left. So funny with their history, that they actually believe that they will be better for the economy than the Tories.

But its good to see that they have had a month of feeling important, but unfortunately for them, come Friday the will have to get down from their rainbows and get off their unicorns and return the the real world.

I think Tories will win a comfortable majority.

I hope its a Landside that finishes of the Labour Party, because all joking aside, we do need a strong opposition to keep the Tories in check, and it the current rabble that is the Labour party think they are in with the slightest chance, think would a credible opposition would be able to do. We need a decent opposition, and hopefully moving forward in a couple of months or so, one will rise out of the current mess.

But if the lefties seriously think the average voter will look past Labours previous record on the economy, the current leaders strong links with terrorists, and the blumbling racist idiot that is DIanne Abbott, then they are truly further out their in cloud cuckoo land that I give them credit for.

Labour will never get a vote from me again, I haven't forgotten the massive balls they made last time. Don't know how anyone can go back to Labour, I really don't.

You fear that Corbyn is out of his depth and, yes, I agree he is.

But we have seen first hand that May is the strong and stable leader we need.

Vote conservative. Its the only sensible option open to us.
Agreed

Steady on old son, you'll have a coronary.

It's an intention to vote poll for a football message board where many of the regulars avoid the political threads and two of the three sitting MPs in the main catchment area aren't Tories. And I don't think even the most fervent leftie on here has claimed Corbyn will win an overall majority. Chill your boots.

Points of order though. Firstly you can't "prove" that the left just shout louder, that's subjective. Secondly you can't wave your arms around while posting on NSC as it makes typing impossible.

Jeremy Corbyn representing Britain at the next G7 meeting - OMG!

Jeremy Corbyn representing GREAT BRITAIN at the next G7 meeting - it's unthinkable! The doormen will think he's an intruder.

JEREMY CORBYN representing GREAT BRITAIN at the next G7 MEETING of the WORLDS MOST POWERFUL LEADERS - the ultimate HUMILIATION for the once great British nation.

Make this your last thought as you stand in the booth poised to place your cross on Thursday.
