The part you are missing is that by deterring by declaring we will use our weapons, the chances of that nuclear attack are reduced because the aggressor knows we would retaliate. By refusing to confirm willingness to retaliate the chances of attack increase ie people

I'm guessing that you know sod all about these blokes except from the obvious fact that they are bothered enough about democracy that they went to the trouble of applying to be in that audience and ask a a question of the people who want to run our country. The man is a dickhead. All he had to add to what he said was yes, as an absolute last resort, which is it. He has now told the world, if he is in power, Trident is not something for anyone to worry about. So as I see it, he going to open his Brexit negations with, we are not going to walk away, no matter how bad a deal you give us, and we guarantee your citizens right to remain here.

It's just that Theresa "it's all about me" May refused the offer so that she could have a Sword of Damocles to hang over their heads in negotiation. It's why she is disrespected and why they are hostile from the start. It's why "no deal" is the deal we will end up with under her.

Yes, you are right -they are of a certain age. They have much experience of real life, as opposed to trendies with their misplaced idealism. I presume from this comment, that you really don't want anyone questioning JC, if it means that he then flounders, which he clearly did last night. It is what happens when the dreamer comes up against reality and experience.

I'm sure even the bluest Tory would admit they would have preferred to see a mixed demographic grilling Corbyn. It doesn't look good when your support is framed as single:

Whilst last nights debates were almost meaningless in terms of changing voters views (they were a draw), there seems to be a growing narrative that May is not appealing to the female gender. I wonder how much truth there is in that?

Let be honest though, this whole thread is a waste of time, because as someone pointed out earlier, if you take the results of our poll , at the moment it gives Labour a 300 plus majority, so its proves NSC is a bunch of ****wits when it comes to politics.

It's a bit like NSC from a few years ago, when us who wanted a return to 4-4-2 and a British Manager were called dinosaurs, and I think a poll put us in a minority of about 15%

Fast forward a few years and those vocal people in favour of tippy tappy football, and a 4-1-2-3--1-2-3-1---1 formation in favour for 4-4-2 suddenly lost their voices.

I predict a Tory land side, successful Brexit Negations and a much happier more united nation in 5 years time with a booming economy.

Could be wrong, but I would suspect that a lot of the vocal left on here at the moment will soon lose their voices or ability to type!!

If I am wrong, I'll be far more worried about the state on the country in 5 years time, then what anyone on here thinks!!!

Privitastion of the NHS, the rise in food banks, a huge rise in child poverty, rip off landlords, welfare cuts, cuts to cooperation tax meaning cooperations pay less tax than their employees, spectacularly missed economic targets, the longest fall in value of wages since records began, the austerity con, the most unaffordable homes ever, the biggest education funding cuts in decades and the defunding of local government.

How does any of that lead to a happier, more united country? Stop belittling the left for opposing this and take off your right wing blinkers.
