Well if this is your first vote your going to go for the party who says they love you the most, being Labour. I did exactly the same when I was 20, but later on found out I had been cheated.

They haven't started yet. Election of not, negotiations were not going to start until mid June. See didn't even call the election 2 months ago, so come on, play fair.

The time the Tories have spent electioneering is time that they'd otherwise have spent working hard on their tactics to get Britain "a good deal".

The face to face negotiations begin in just 2 weeks time. The EU finalised their negotiating position in May and Verhofstadt even said they completed their plans with time to spare, such was their unity. Yet none of the British electorate has any idea what the Tories have in mind when they get round the table on 19th June. Davis, May and the Tories will be winging it, pure and simple.

This is just you trying to lend some credence to your points - I very much doubt that this is the case in general, though in some cases it will undoubtedly be true. Older folk will inevitably have far more experience of life, and their particular "thoughtful" will clearly reflect this, meaning they are far more likely to come to a measured response to life's problems.

My 18 year-old and his peers, are FAR better informed as to their choices than we ever were at that age. Naturally enough, tbh - as a teenager in the 80's (and obviously, earlier) you really only saw or heard, what you wanted to see or hear. You generally lived in a bit of a bubble - surrounded largely by peers with similar backgrounds and a similar worldview, and rarely heard the views of others.

The internet, and most particularly social media has changed that entirely.

Whilst you certainly have a point - this is not quite the same. The point was made that young people are more savvy than oldies, not compared to when we/you were their age. Life teaches us all many things, and in general the older you are, the more your reactions will be tempered by thought and realism.

I also find they are more concerned about problems such as housing and job security and thus, understandably, take a different view of what matters to those of us with settled jobs and relatively small mortgages. They are also way more international in their outlook and see the UK for what it is rather than what it used to be.

It is those last words that seem so odd. Given that you are nowhere near government, you could not possibly be in a position to make such a definitive statement. Might it just be that some or even much preparation has gone on behind the scenes?

Given that the supply of time is finite Theresa May has either:

a) compromised on her General Election manifesto and campaign in favour of Brexit prep, OR
b) neglected her preparation for talks with the EU starting on 19th June, in favour of prep for the GE OR
c) undercooked both the GE AND the Brexit prep.

Either way, she's done a disservice to the UK electorate. She herself confirmed how damaging having an election campaign during the Brexit negotiations would be by using this reason to rule out the possibility of a second independence vote in Scotland. Yet another U-turn by the PM.
