I don't understand why HT is so worried and keeps starting these pro Labour threads. Although i take an interest worldwide i would not be so obsessed about a country i did not live in.

You must share Mr Fergus's view that socialism should only be about the interests of the working classes born in your own country. Capitalism does not recognise international borders, so why should HT?

Why must i. What has having an obsession got to do with socialism and capitalism.

These rules about who is and isn't allowed in what thread are getting complicated. Cunning Fergus shouldn't post in these threads that he has an interest in because although he's a Brighton fan who goes to games he doesn't post in other threads whereas HT is allowed to post about something non-Albion related that doesn't directly concern him because he shares your political outlook.

Any other rules we should be aware of or other posters who should steer clear of this thread?

It is blatantly obvious that you have no interest in the Albion.

Really?

If so he's put on quite an act on the numerous away days I've done with him to most far-flung corners of the country. I must have also been imagining seeing him in his season ticket spot at the Amex most games.

To be fair that's probably an intake issue............train gin and all that.

That said I wont be at the Amex Sunday with my half and half...............will be recovering from Cheltenham Trails day.

Ouch.

Finally mentioning the Albion on an Albion messageboard. I must have touched a nerve.

Hello my pretty.

Seriously no nerve touched.............this is all part of the cut and thrust of the debate................je suis Charlie mon cherie.

So, how about that verdict of how uncontrolled borders benefit the British working class...................I've opened a family bag of Red Sky Ready Salted (my favourite).

In your own time.

I also take an international interest, but the UK is a country I can assist with change for the better via the ballot box.

The Fatherland
or the latest Lord Ashcroft National Poll:
Con 29%
Lab 28%
Ukip 15%
Green 11%
LibDem 9%
SNP 5%

Ashcroft makes these numbers up; I'm sure of it.

... of course he does,.........until one day they just happen to show Labour in the lead.... then miraculously he becomes the font of all knowledge.

This one looks reasonably accurate to me.

I'm no happier than you that Ashcroft's poll shows the Tories in the lead but - genuine question - why does the ICM seem more 'reasonable' - is it just because Labour are leading?

As an aside - the average from both polls has both the Libs and Greens tied on 10%. The "Green Surge" does seem to be real - if they hit 10% in May they really could end up with a few MPs.

The Greens surge is pretty interesting - should be enough to get Caroline her seat back. I think they've picked up support deservedly for the TV carve up. Will be discomforting Ed a little although it's not clear they are all Lab defections in the same way Ukip are mostly Tory.

If you put faith in them knowing their stuff, the bookies have Caroline Lucas as short as 8/15 to keep her seat.

Mind you, they have Clegg at 1/3 to keep his and everyone keeps saying that's under threat - so either the press & public don't really know much, or there's some cracking value to be had on his Labour opponent at 3/1...

(Anyone that wants to have a look through the seat by seat odds, they are HERE)

There's some interesting analysis of opinion polls knocking around based on what people say vs what people do
It's apparent on here also
It is proven over the last couple of years in dozens of polls & outcomes that there is a 'Shy Tory' factor that runs through every poll. In effect, 1 in 50 say they won't vote Tory but do & 1 in 50 say they will vote Labour in a poll but don't in the booth
What this means is that all polls underestimate Actual Tory votes by 2% & overestimate Labour also by 2%
So, a 33% Labour & 30% Tory poll will actually produce a 1% win for the Blues when the slips are counted

Should not be allowed to vote imo. Only vote in the country you live in. Still just my opinion, that's all.

I contribute to the UK coffers so I should be able to have a say in how my taxes are spent.

Labour have NEVER won this seat & never will. It is the 'wealthiest' seat outside of London

Have you just started reading the thread?
Ashcrofts polls have more advanced weightings to include what the actual may be not just what people say they will do. Others don't and so give a misleading view. This weighting had only started appearing in last month or two & other pollsters are behind the curve
