Genuine question from a non-better and something I have always wondered.

What is the advantage to a bookmaker of paying out before a known outcome, as opposed to waiting till after the event?

Publicity.
Also he can close the book so he doesn't have lose any more money.
He paid out early on Man Utd in 1998 and 2012.

Feel massively let down by Blair, i really believed in him........ had so much hope in his leadership.

Labour need to move towards the centre once more with either David Milliband or Chuka Umuna, then they may become mainstream electable again........

You see, I could see myself voting for a party led by David Milliband and almost certainly would have done had he been Labour leader for this election. But Ed Milliband - installed by the Unions and lacking in anything even remotely approaching leadership qualities? No chance. I doubt if he could even run a charity shop.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
It's tempting. I did it last year, but then overslept on my train the following day and ended up in Norwich as opposed to Colchester.

I can't find the election thread of our last one. It would be interesting reading.

Whats so special about St Ives? A constituency of just under 67,000. Why does it take them until tomorrow lunchtime to return the result?

Slower pace of life innit

Cut it short to five and a bit miles.

Inspired by the thought of all those confused lefties trying to get their ballot papers into boxes overflowing with the papers already deposited by hard-working Tories I managed to pick up my pace.

A dry night for me. I can just about mange work tomorrow on a few hours sleep, but I cannot cope with a hangover as well

Huge vat of black coffee freshly prepared. I'm strapped in and ready to go.

Just far enough away from LDC

Took on murdoch, the unions and non dom and still neck and neck on election day. I think that shows leadership
