Scotland, NI and Wales have their own parliaments and assemblies, England does not. None of the English MP's can vote on any issues of these countries.
Do you not think that if the SNP get to influence the seats in the general election, then it could be detrimental to issues in England, and beneficial to issues in Scotland.

They do need to sort that out. If they dont then it will cause more and more friction and will help the SNP disolve the UK

i dont know how familar you are with voting systems, you vote for a candidate or party, not against a candidate or party. the whole point around the SNP is they will have a power beyond the number of MPs, potentially dictating policy for the rest of UK, while being insulated from many of the consequences of thoes policies.

That is the key point. PR would help but we have what we have and the big parties have protected themselves by refusing to move from FPP. They and we will potentially suffer a bit now but lets see, i tend to believe it wont be that bad

I did'nt see or hear david campaigning for a yes vote he wanted to keep the union together (he likes that word) think he should be careful what he wishes for eh!

Not quite true. The issues that power has been devolved to Scotland for relate to

  • health.
  • education and training.
  • local government.
  • law, including most aspects of criminal and civil law, the prosecution system and the courts.
  • social work.
  • housing.
  • tourism and economic development.

Things they can't decide for themselves are :-

  • [*=left]benefits and social security
    [*=left]immigration
    [*=left]defence
    [*=left]foreign policy
    [*=left]employment
    [*=left]broadcasting
    [*=left]trade and industry
[*=left]nuclear energy, oil, coal, gas and electricity
    [*=left]consumer rights
    [*=left]data protection
    [*=left]the Constitution

So, it is very misleading to imply in your post that they decide anything for themselves.

We shall see, what happens if they get to pitch in with Labour.

I don't believe any of them, Con, Lib or Lab, they have let everyone down, but worst of all it was Labour that ruined it for me. That's one vote they lost from me and millions of other people. Only UKIP will be getting my vote.

Yeh right and you think you are going to get anything different from UKIP made up of former disaffected Tories and a bunch of far-right fanatics. Dream on pal...

Seems to me everyone else will be deciding what happens with our country apart from us if Labour get it. SNP deciding what we do, the EU deciding what we do, and Labour doing what Labour does best, not listening and spending lots of money. Another Labour government will be the tipping point for this country.

Indeed. It'll be interesting to watch.
Personally I have no time for:
Cameron smug toff
Miliband typical metropolitan liberal with enough cash not to get his hands dirty
Lib Dems the party that wished the Albion dead
SNP English hating nationalists whose socialist generosity is funded by said sassenachs
Greens agree with their ecological stance but seem to be the party of overgrown students
UKIP like the SNP need to appeal to voters' xenophobia

a proper system of recalling MPs would address this particular issue, not PR. but the sitting members definatly kicked that one into touch.

Funny the conservatives got about 36% of the vote at the last election and people moan about other parties having a say with only a few seats. 64% of the population did not vote for a Tory government and yet they have been running this country propped up by the Lib Dems. We need PR and get away from a Tory/ labour governments and let more of the voting public have a voice.

which shows that on two of the most significant issues at the moment, health and housing, Scots have nothing to complain to Westminister about. they shouldnt really have any input on policy or voting on those devolved issues as they dont affect them.

Why would anyone vote this in then?

Yep, what a sad thought.

Agree. The other advantage of PR is it encourages new parties to form and get up to speed quickly. Plenty of empirical evidence of this from other countries.
