Can't see it somehow but...

British Olympic Association chief Simon Clegg has warned he would pull the GB team out of the Athens Games if its security cannot be guaranteed.

Fears that terrorists may target the Olympics have heightened in the wake of last week's bombings in Madrid.

And Clegg said he would be prepared to take the "ultimate sanction".

"We will not compromise the security arrangements for our team where we have responsibility for managing that team at the Olympic Games," Clegg said.

Think it is just a warning to the Greeks to get their act together.

If there is a serious issue I am sure Team USA would be the first not to go, in fact I wonder how many top USA athletes may suddenly develop an injury. ???

Bollocks I'm going to Corfu for a holiday might have to cancel my plans due to security aswell. After all most of out atheletes will be knocked out in the heats and then sitting on the beach drinking cocktails or taking nonperformance bettering drugs so will be in a very similar position to myself.Didn't realise holidays were so dangerous.:smokin: :smokin:

Is Ferdinand running the 100 & 200 metres here he has a good chance.

I reckon that's more a face-saver as the British team is likely to win so little - or nothing at all if Paula Radcliffe isn't fit.

Nothing like getting your excuses in early.

I think the biggest fear is that they won't finish the stadium in time.

I was in Athens four weeks ago and it's a big building site.
Based on what I saw in terms of the state of the place and the amount of actual work being done I would say that the chances of it being ready are less than 20%.

Already they have decided to forget about the retractable roof on the main stadium and to only plant half the number of trees originally planned. I ma sure that other shortcuts will be found nearer the time.

it is a tip there. it will be hilarious when time comes round and they have no premises. i remember when they had just finished the millenium stadium and people called it a crisis because they were still painting on the last day,. just imagine the scenes:p
