Look, they are closely linked to Hamas, both recently, and historically,...they certainly have a rogue strategy that sometimes ruffles the Hamas leaderships' feathers, but there is no escapeing from the fact that the group( family) associate themselves with Hamas, and always have done.

More or less consistently the Jewish population was around 10% in what is affectionately known historically as Palestine, the rest being Arab christians and a majority of muslims of course. After 1947 that figure moved upward of course, as per the Un resolution to approx 25% very quickly.

Israel will never go away,........ can't see where you get this idea from, other than wishful thinking.

There is no debate currently. Israeli politics is so debased that polls show 90 per cent are in favour of the current campaign blowing Palestinian kids to bits - there is no reasoning with that. The world just has to get serious with Israel as it once did with apartheid South Africa. It could be a longer struggle, yes - but remember the Afrikaaners only gave up under a combination of world sanctions and local military pressure, Israel will be no different.

Nevertheless, the absence of global communism has meant that fundementalism ( of all flavours), with a little bit of economic migration, will mean that your neat lable of 'right-wing' politics in the US will continue to hold sway. This will not get any better over the next few generations with the increase in the 'conservative' hispanic ( catholic) voter corps right across the US. So unfortuantely, DIP will have to shelve his 'disappearing Israel' theory for now,... they will continue to have friends across the pond for some time yet.
