With any luck Halls will continue closing branches after their Kemp Town office recently shut down.

I'd be rather pleased were Lampons to fold too.

Fingers crossed

they rode a wave good on em...lets just hope they had the intelligence to invest some cash for a rainy day and didn't just spank it on property, cars and swanky suits...

Sadly and I mean that, the Staff at PP branch are layed off, not transferred, Mishon is almost solely responsible for the disturbing over valuations of many Brighton properties (allegedly) but not for much longer it appears

MM are a good example of the worst side of estate agents. And there is no allegedly about your statement - they were consistantly the highest valuers when I sell a property - only appointed them once and ended up getting rid of them for a more honest hard working agent.

And it's national, one of the biggest in Stoke area went into administration yesterday. And when I spoke to the administrator, she was looking (forward?) to spending a busy couple of years on similar cases.

I agree with this. Whilst I understand it takes a buyer and a greedy seller to inflate prices I still felt uncomfortable with their agressive policy. This wasnt helped by often seeing Glenn Mishon swan around Hove in his Bentley sticking it on double yellows when he was having his lunch on George Street. It really did not send out a good image.

Mind you if someone was willing to buy my place for a shed-load I wouldnt turn it down.

Rubbish.

it's a buyers market at the moment - if you have some savings you can pick up an absolute bargain!

Oh how I agree but lets look at the evidence Estate Agents going bust or closing down every day vendors fighting off (just) ridiculous offers and insisting properties are still worth the vast over valuations they are on the market for, banks and building societies closing in on those who have overstretched themselves daily = a massive reduction, unprecedented in fact in property prices nationwide around March /April next year, like the Grand National starter says' WAIT WAIT ........GO ON'

totally agree. MM had serious problems last time there was a housing crisis and just about came through the other side. Since then, property boomed and they made the most of it (as surely any of us would try and do in the same situation). Now, I hope they are able to ride out the current situation and closures and job losses are kept to a minimum.
