Do you get equally arsey in Bordeaux cafes when they charge you more to sit on the terrace than inside?
I haven't experienced that charge or, maybe, I haven't noticed it.

The airport costs for roads, security etc are all there whether or not you drop-off at the terminal. There is no cost to the airport specific to car drop-off.
Picked Daughter up on Tuesday, long stay is free for 2 hours, they hopped on a bus and met me there. Very easy stress free option all be it it adds a 5min bus transfer for the travellers.
Edit - sorry didn’t realise this was past not future!!
Is the bus free?
Is the bus free?
Someone has been paying for this though. So what you’re saying, is that others have previously been subsidizing your free drop-offs. That’s unfair.
None of the airports I use (Faro, Lisbon, Bordeaux, Johannesburg) charge for drop-off or pick-up. It is a scam.
Subsidizing? That's a strange way to look at it. Who is subsidizing you when you are dropped off at the pub, restaurant, cinema, casino ,train station, bus station, shopping centre, supermarket? Isn't all the infrastructure just the capital and associated maintenance cost built into the business model?
Yep. Last time I went to Scotland for a few days the car park cost more than the return flight.
As opposed to the train which would 'of' taken you from Burgess Hill to Gatwick Airport for just about no money at all?
Not for a 6.30am flight
As Daz said yes, every 10mins and takes 5mins, worse case is say 15min from them exiting the airport and getting to your car.
Yeah they’re all as busy as Gatwick and Heathrow

That's not a rational argument. Johannesburg airport has two terminals and is one of the major African hubs.
Yes there is, they have had to provide and maintain an area suitable for doing so, with lay by areas, pedestrian crossing, lifts, escalators, smoking shelters, and staff specific to ensuring the drop off area is not abused.
That is not a car drop-off area. It is an arrival area that is used by busses, coaches and staff coming to work as ell as passengers arriving for their flights.
It’s not rational that everyone who travels through Gatwick can expect space to just pull up and drop off. As said to you Gatwick provide free parking to drop / pick-up passengers at long stay just 5mins from the airport. I think those that want to pay the £5 great, but it’s not like there’s no other options because there is.
