I think it got a mention in The Swansea Thread, but I reckon it deserves it's own thread.

Well played Joe, it'll be great if a few goals under his belt brings him back to us full of confidence. This is what we should be doing with our youngsters as it's a big step to go from reserve / youth football to the first team. A spell on loan to a Conference club seems the logical approach.

Keep it up Joe.

Agreed........looks a long way short of being professional footballer, but you can,t argue with his goal/games ratio for a youngster. Really hope he makes it.

The reserve football tends to be against Championship clubs reserves. He scored against QPR reserves a few weeks ago which included Danny Cullip.

I know what you are saying, but whenever I've seen reserve games, the players who would normally be in the 1st team (such as Cullip) tend to just be going through the motions a bit, often just trying to maintain fitness, or continue rehabilitation from an injury. The intensity is miles away from what a player will face in the 1st team.

That's great for the lad, looks like he has found his level! Woking are on Setanta next week so can see how he is playing. Watched McPhee play right back last week!

A player who scored 5 goals in his first senior season!! That's nearly as many as the rest of the squad.
Don't write Gatting off. Chris McPhee he isn't.

.........and Gattings MUM is Grade A MILF who used to be a personal banker in Barclays North Road in the early 80's. Well worth a pot.

Just as the thread got interesting the smut master arrives with another wish list comment that never happened :nono:

i definitely feel he is another confidence player and playing "proper" football against agressive players will help him achieve that i reckon and carrying on his scoring will do him the world of good.

There whole defence stood still waiting for the ref to stop the game, Gatting went through to score unchallanged.
He played to the whistle, they didn't. That takes skill and intelligence.
It was still a good angle to beat the keeper.

I dont wish to rain on everyones parade, but I know a few woking supporters who go to the games regularly, and they havent been impressed with him so far. Apparently the only decent thing he does is hold he ball up well. Sounds familiar. I think he is a confrence standard player.

That's sadly been obvious for a long time now. The boy needs to be seriously thinking about making a move sideways into cricket IMHO. I wish him well on a personal level, but at the same time I don't wish the Albion first team to be lumbered with him.

How did I know you were going to post on this thread?

Because its a Joe Gatting thread and I'm with the Woking supporters on this one?

We'd have been relegated last season without his goals, but you are determined to have a downer on him.

Not strictly true. His only goal that counted was the winner against Chesterfield. Having said that, difficult to make that sort of statement anyway.

I think he will do well from this spell at Woking. He shows a good touch, can hold up the ball and has a good footballing brain. He has time on his side and I feel he can become a decent poacher.
