Gary Stevens is an Albion Legend. He always talks about us on Talksport Radio. I am not sure about him as a Manager though. If he really wanted to go into management i would have thought he would have done it years ago?

Spot on he is a legend and one of the best players to ever pull on the shirt. And yes when he worked at Talk Sport he was always banging on about the Albion and how he was fighting the cause for Falmer etc
Having said that what we need now is somebody with a reputation at winning at this level and the ability to bring quality players in to the sqaud in the future. Of the current crop that would be Paul Ince although there are a few others that also fit that bill. I think we still have a good reputation as a club with the potential to be big and are capable of attracting any of the current crop of names being banded about.....now whether we can afford any of them is another matter!!!!

please, no to Mr Stevens, he is definitely not Btn through and through as was mentioned on SCR. He is Spurs through and through and he is not the man for the job, was apparently taking notes in the stand today, which sounds ominous.

Could do a job as a No.2 to someone with more experience of league management. Trouble is any new manager coming in may want to bring in his own backroom staff, not have someone forced on them by the Albion board. If White & Booker go then there will be room for a couple of new faces. However I can't see both Booker and White leaving just yet. Maybe Booker, but I can see White staying as Reserve team manager.
I wouldn't be too unhappy with Gary Stevens - he appears to know what he's talking about when he comments on football and he's clearly intelligent.
I rather get a good manager than concern myself if they are Brighton through and through - Capello can hardly be classed as England through and through but he's still doing a pretty decent job.
My next door neighbour has some connections to Tunbridge Wells Football Club.
I have had several chats with him regarding Gary Stevens attempts to buy TWFC. Basically he had no money and attempted to gather several businessmen together in order to buy the club. He had a somewhat alterior motive as one of his current jobs is running a youth football coaching organisation, his plans were to develop the ground, convert it to an all weather pitch etc... It appeared that his sole interest in TWFC was to make money from it. The people in charge saw through him and hence the 'deal' went no further.
I remember Gary Stevens as a wonderful footballer but I see him as slightly Archeresque in his dealings in football since...

Didn't Harty say that Stevens had been at the last two games, taking copious notes, and that he had "virtually been dancing with Bloom" in the directors lounge after the game?
I took this as just about as close as he could come to saying he believed he was being lined up.

He's been at loads of games this year, but he always comes to games theres nothing new there. The Blooms have been around the club for years and always make the time to entertain past legends, They are all Albion followers with the same high regard for great ex players as we have. Thats all.

The blooms have been around for years ever since they shat on mullery wth lloyd so looks like they havent changed at all throughout the years

What is the only connection now at the club with Archer .......... Ray Bloom. He was the only director who didnt get hounded out with Archer Bellotti and Stanley etc. I wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw him. Dont know enough about Tony Bloom to have an opinion.
