I think Roberts needs at least 1 more reserve game to prove himself. If he does, a contract until the end of the season with an option to extend it I reckon.

He gives the impression, rightly or wrong, that he is isnt that interested in playing just picking up a wage. As I say I may be way off of the mark but that is my impression of him.

Totally agree.
The first time he played for us at Crewe he was unfit and has remained so for most of his time here. A complete waste of space!

Roberts sounds very useful and worth a longer trial

You are not allowed to say that as I know nothing about football apart from reccomending signing Trevor Stevens when at Burnley as 15 year old and Paul Rogers when at Sutton but who cares really.
I wrote to the club about Robbie Earnshaw when he was a 15 year old scoring 70 goals a season for their youth team. Could have done a job.

You were scouting for Everton Gramps?

No for Alan Mullery when he was our manager first time. This was before he signed for Everton but the chief scout here said he wouldnt make it as he was too small. Paul Rogers was for Barry Lloyd when I was sent to watch a striker Francis Arawatife play for Sutton, I was impressed with Paul Rogers but was told he was too old. He was then signed by Dave ( Harry) Bassett for Sheff Utd and then went to Wigan and eventually MA brought him to BHA.

Just as a point of interest BL sent me to watch a player I think he was playing for Grantham or Boston, it was that match anyhow called Greg McFee a central defender who I didnt rate but did a full back who we went after but BL was beaten to his signature by Brian Clough, Gary Crosby, BL tried to sign him after a game but he had agreed before the game to sign for Cloughie. Some you win some you lose.
