But it all looked such an easy game when he was sitting there watching the slo-mows and highlighting things with coloured pens ?

And there's still people who think Giggs should get the United job. Not sure why some ex players are thought above starting in the lower leagues and working their way up the managerial ladder.

There is something deeply satisfying about the situation. Fair play to him as a pundit putting his money where his mouth is a side.

On the Border
8 games into his reign and being written off. How many games does a manager get now. Seems some are only prepared to keep them if they win everygame and all competitions.

Lets at least keep an open mind until 20 odd games have passed.

He's been incredibly unlucky so far. Take today for instance, all over Sporting but just couldn't convert any of their numerous chances. Negredo even somehow missed an open goal. The only reason Sporting scored is because they were awarded a penalty. They had no other decent chances.

Mourinho wins cups in Portugal, England, Spain and Italy, that is the mark of a good manager

Sir Bobby Robson won cups and championships in Spain and Portugal and didn't do to bad in Holland too.

Spot on,Nobody should take over a Premiership side without previous experience, whenever Giggs is shown on Tv there appears little goes on with him and the manager.

It's more the mark of a great, if not phenomenal, manager.

I'd say a good manager is one that can take over a club and either inject some stability (if a relegation battle) or inspire improvement (even if slowly).
