I remember Hyypia on more than one occasion playing Gardener and JFC behind Teixera in the least physical central midfield 3 I have ever seen on a football pitch, as well as having the fullbacks spend most of their time in the opposition half.
Yes Gardener had an awful spell when he was here but to be frank, except Dunk, who wasn't awful at that point?

Wouldn't take him on a free transfer playing for nothing. Thought he was incredibly lazy.
For me with Paynter, Obika and Harley one of our worst players in the Amex era.

I actually think that's a good signing at this level. Clearly not a bad footballer.
We had a truly awful midfield when he was here. So bad that people actually thought Rohan Ince was a quality footballer . Even Texeira struggled in that team and he was clearly a cut above.

strange one but each to their own , what they do have and i'm very jelous is Oliviera from Benfica on a loan deal , how he has no been snapped up by a prem club i dont know , a quality player .

Elliot Bennett didn't shine. I think he's good.
I don't think many came out of last season with much praise, yet are much better this year.
Fair enough, I still think he's dreadful.

Actually yes, yes I am. I realise l am in my usual minority of one, but I actually thought the guy was pretty good overall. Yes he made a few mistakes along the way, but remember that he was playing in a very poor team.
He could certainly pass a ball, never hid when the going got tough, and scored a few goals too.
If we have agreed to pay around the £2.5/£3m mark for Knockeart, then I think that Gary Gardner is probably worth half of that.
He will do a pretty good job for Forest in my opinion.
