I had mixed feelings.

It is obviously nice to see two Brighton players in the 'team of the week'. I appreciate Crooks' honesty that he does have a bias towards players from 'fashionable sides', and this does explain why we don't see our players very often.

I was surprised about the 'Potter's second season' comment. Mostly because I would assume that a website as popular as BBC Sport, which must be one of the most popular sports websites in the UK, if not the world, would have staff to check basic facts where they appear in opinion pieces.

This line about Bissouma also jumped out at me:

He also admits to a typical big club bias in his write up about Biss.

The mans an idiot.

As opposed to every other pundit who go out of their way to deny big club bias then carry on spouting nothing but big club bias.

The guy is a plum, but let's keep his plumisms realistic.

Yves Bissouma: I've had my eye on him for some time now and with every touch of the ball he seems to get better. I dare say he might have made my team of the week on more occasions had he been playing for a more fashionable side.

I think the part in bold says a lot about Crooks.

He is probably right though..if he was playing for a CL side he would be far more recognised.

Enjoy him while we have him.

I don't know why anyone takes Garth seriously, or indeed why the BBC still employ him. He's had De Bruyne at CDM and Arnautovic at RWB in his team of the week before, and some of the formations he uses are completely absurd - presume it's just for comedy value!

Biss is criminally undervalued on that site at £22.5m. I suppose this is good for us though.

That’s a very good point I hadn’t considered.

I’m not sure transfermarkt are that savvy though. I see, for example, Ben White of Arsenal is valued at £25m with a contract until 2026. Compare with Varane valued at £63m with a contract expiring in 2025.

If there had been the slightest hint of racism I would have been one of the first all over it. There isn't. Just a critique of a pundit who regularly makes a tit of himself.


Racism is real but it really doesn't help if you are making accusations of racism where none exists. I suggest you report all the posts on this thread where you imagine racist comments have been made and let the mods deal with them.
