Apparently, Fabio has already been on the phone to Alan Navarro...

f***ing hellfire.

Time for Michael Carrick to stand up and be counted.

Carrick on his day is brilliant, but he never quite does it at international level. Maybe, for ONCE, Gerrard and Lampard can perform well together.

Central midfielders left are Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick - then its one from Beckham, Huddlestone, Joe Cole, Mikael Arteta, Jimmy Bullard, Alan Navarro

Is it def true tho? Don't trust the mirror completely...

I'm sure I saw Hargreaves in a Man U kit on the bench the other day? Surely not fit enough tho...

No offence to Barry if it's but i'm sure someone can play that role well for us still...

Beckham's injured though... Bullard is a crock, Joe Cole aint been playing, Arteta would be just wrong.... Its got to be between Thud and Navarro....

No no no no. Not good at all.

Carrick pisses me off anyway, I guess someone like Huddlestone might get a chance.

I'm not a massive fan of Gerrard, and he's not been all that great this season.
But, I can't see anyone else good/fit enough to feel that gap.
Gerrard and Lampard owe us something this World Cup.
I'd like Fabs to sit them down together, the three of 'em have a chat, and sort it out.
We know they're both attacking, but they should be good enough to adapt and play well together.

Gerrard and Lampard ...

AAAHHH!!!

But this is a big part of the reason we've done so well in qualification - we've played players in their proper positions (or much closer to them ...). Argentina would be pretty shit if they played Messi at right-back; likewise, neither Lampard nor Gerrard are defensive midfielders. It's not about being "good enough".

Huddlestone please.

Gerrard can play DM well but we need him linking with Rooney and Lamps, I do think Huddlestone is a good player but he's a bit too inexperienced. If we were to play any of the top 6 sides in the world he would struggle I think. I'd want parker to have a chance in a friendly or 2, if he does well put him DM if not just go with Carrick.
