Using the lawnmower for leaves works for me (and cuts them up ready for composting)

My recommendation for a complete garden waste of money is one of these View attachment 138756 A woodchipper !

Bought one years ago, spent hours 'chipping' a load of buddleia cuttings. When I say 'chipping', I mean 30 seconds chipping 5 minutes opening up blocked chipper, cleaning out blocked chipper, 30 seconds chipping etc

Has sat unused in the shed for a least 5 years now

That's another gadget I have, the Bosch Quiet, bought about 15 years ago.

Another item I haven't used in years - I do a load of composting (successfully producing black gold), but I refrain from too muchy woody material input to keep a balance.

Most of our woody waste, goes away in our green waste bins every fortnight.

****ing strimmer has started up a couple of doors away now (the mechanic down the road has evidently finished trying to get the car to start).

I'm on my third shredder and have used them until they wear out.
I shred woody material separately and use it to make (and recover) a path at the back of my garden between beds, the greener stuff is shredded to make great compost in my three compost bins.
Yesterday and today it has been used to reduce the trimmings from my front and back garden hedges. <smug>

I need to get a new one later this year (when the shops reduce the prices).
