This is where I'm at, too. People won't want to hear it though. Some would rather have a big stick to beat the club with.
The club doesn't need to be beaten with a big stick but they could do with a small poking. If I'd lost two people from the same key position within a year for the same reason in my organisation I'd be in front of my board this morning having to explain it. Of course no one knows for certain that it WAS the same reason.
