Continuity delivers so much in football and panic decisions are not usually the best ones. However, there is nothing I have seen from OG this season that convinces me that he is the man to take us forward, particularly as we are now going backwards.

The comparisons with GP are interesting. Let's not forget that GP didn't have the luxury of a "transitional" season (whatever one of those are) but took over with the club facing relegation in the tier below.

"Inheriting a squad"; well, most managers do not get the opportunity to inherit a squad that has finished fourth in a division as managers who have done that are rarely fired or leave. OG inherited a good squad; he knew what the position was (presumably, as he didn't come into football cold in July 2013) and should have made plans accordingly.

I don't believe we are defensive. I think the problem is more fundamental than that, looking at the body language of the players, particularly when we went 2-0 down on Saturday. There is certainly no leader on the pitch, no-one is ever willing to take responsibility and, I fear, the players are not particularly motivated by OG, either as a man or a football manager. However technically competent our squad is, and I think our squad is a top six one on competence. mental attitude is everything.

I think you are missing the point.

If its a one of game, I could accept it. But game after game after game, the stats show we are dominating, Garica is using these stats to back this up but watching the game we are not. We may dominate possession stat wise, but we are not dominating games. I believe those two points are very different things.

I am using the Ipswich game as an example, because its the most recent, and in my view a typical performance from us, the only difference being we didnt snatch a win like we did against QPR, Ipswich snatched the win.

23 shots I read somewhere as a stat. A fact as you put it.

I SAW their keeper make one reasonable save from Lingards volley. That is a fact as well.

Now, Ulloa we are lead to believe is priced above £5million. We have a £5 million striker, and we have 23 shots, yet didn't really threaten their keeper. Its not a one off. Would you agree to that?

SO although you're stats, you're facts as you say, show we are dominating, my eyes, as pointed out above tells me we are not.

Now are you suggesting that our players are that poor, that week in week out that although having above average shots per game, we are scoring hardly any goals.

Are you saying that those players are that weak?

I don't think they are?

So why is our shooting, our shots on target so piss poor, compared to the amount of shots you claim we are having??

Did you read what I posted?

"I think more of our shots would go in, if we had Orlandi, Crofts, a fit Ulloa available all season plus a decent replacement for Barnes".

Lets look at where we would expect the goals to come from.....
We have an over reliance on one person; Ulloa, he has been injured for part of the season.
Buckley has been inconsistent (and injured), occasionally wading in with goals.
Kaz. erratic (and injured)
Our biggest goal scoring threat from midfield (Crofts) is injured.
Orlandi, who i think people are expecting to contribute has been injured.
Hoskins. Injured
CMS. Injured

Clue for all of the above = INJURED for part of the season. so when they 're injured we have to rely on other players (see below), plus I would suggest that a player who is carrying or coming back from injury is not going to be that consistent when it comes to playing performance and that may affect their sharpness in front of goal.

That leaves.
Solly. Young and snatches at chances
JFC. Young and snatches at chances
Ince. Young and snatches at chances

Hmm.... anything similar about those three?

So, who's left who could be contributing?
Lets ignore the defence as it's kind of a bonus when they score ;-)

Kemi. disappeared
Spanish Dave. Not been his best season.
Andrews. I don't think he is aware of where the goal is.
Barnes. Sold.

So who did we get in?
Lita. No idea what went on with him.
Obika. Worst player ever.
Lingaard. Jury's out. Clearly a talent, but.... young and snatches at chances?

So in summary it's not that I think they're weak, I think our primary goal threats have been inconsistent, mainly due to injury, plus a number of the shooting opportunities have fallen to young players who haven't made the most of those chances.

As for the stats thing. Your view is totally subjective.

The stats which are compiled independently, indicate that you are wrong. Commentators have consistently said that we are dominating games. The majority of people posting don't agree with you either.

I've just spent a stupid amount of time typing this. But it's probably pointless.

The football has been dull and boring this season but am hoping this is down to injuries etc rather than Garcia's tactics.
Am not convinced by him at all but think we need to give him a full pre-season and summer transfer window to see what he can do.
He must see we are not scoring enough and hopefully will do something about it. Not convinced it is just down to the strikers either - I think the central midfield needs to create far more.
If we are still witnessing the same style of dull football this time next year I would say get rid but I think he deserves the chance to put right what is wrong.

Mad. First season in England. Started late. Came in in a bad situation. Limited budget. Lots of injuries. Has done a good job under these circumstances IMO.

Christ almighty! Some peoples knees must be constantly jerking about. Relax, you'll do yourself a mischief!

We're 9th in the Championship. It's his first season in England. He's inherited a squad; a squad that has suffered from one of the worst run of injuries I can remember. It really isn't all that bad.

In.

He hasn't completed one season yet. Need to show some long-term perspective. Everything is long-term, not short-term.

I would like to see him for one more season at least. There are chances being created and from the majority of comments I see, we still play good football most of the time. I think the club has got it wrong in letting Barnes go with the expectation that Hoskins and CMS would be available to replace him. We clearly need someone to put away the chances and cannot rely on Ulloa all the time. I would like to see what squad we have next summer and then what Oscar can do with them.

Playoffs ? No way. We want automatic promotion please!

100% agree with this and the positives out of the above far out weigh the negatives in respects, close season he will get rid of some lightweight players, and I expect him to bring in some better quality players in those positions. The injury list next season can not be as bad next season he can not be that unlucky. Lastly those "young" players who have been developing nicely like Solly, Ince and JFK will without a shadow of a doubt only get better. The future is bright and we have a squad that can only progress I fully expect next season we will make a serious push for promotion and a top two finish regardless of who comes down.

I just hope the club does not achieve promotion any time soon,it is clear from remarks by some of the more senior bed wetters on here that prem football is the last thing we need right now,can you imagine the mass faintings and tantrums when the likes of Chelsea,City and Liverpool come to town and smack our bums.championship football is a great place to be at the moment until people really start to understand that football is not just about winning all the time, sometimes your team loses you know.

Very much 'in' but I'm not sure the idea of playing one striker in the role he's given is the way forward. Trust Oscar to work it out in the summer. We are still doing better than I expected.

We're 9th - which is probably a fair reflection of our budget. Once you take account of the injuries we've had I think Oscar's record so far should be considered a success.

Of course, if you put results aside, I think you can make legitimate complaints about the style of football Oscar seems to want to play; we've got the best defence in the division, but have scored less than anyone outside the bottom 6. That's never going to be exciting to watch.
