You mean my avatar? An illustration of a character from Britain's most celebrated novelist? Must be 200 by now, Dick.

Okay, I went today, courtesy of the company I work for, and my honest observations were:

1. The dress code is bollocks. I made 'an effort' , despite the heat and saw people in shorts/trainers/scruffy tops 'with a collar' (of sorts).....ridiculous.

2. The choice of food was pathetic - chicken or veggie option (same with starters)

3. Given the plethora of staff, the service was frankly atrocious: Slow, inefficient and clueless.

4. Allocated seats were 'okay' - that's about the only positive.

If I had paid for the 'privilege', that would have cost me around £450 for the two of us, for the category the match was given.

There was, before this, a faint chance I would have paid for this privately, as a special treat, but I can assure you that in no way would I do it now, having experienced it, and would in no way recommend it to anyone else.

And that's without the God-awful result.

Ouch. Gender specific dress code. In the 21st century. In Brighton and Hove.

Barber needs to be careful. Discrimination laws are not something the club wants to fall foul of.

You raise a very good point but, whilst the clubs approach is very dated, I believe it’s within the law.

Hypocrites are a lightening rod to me. I bet you are the first to lambast the 'Tory elite' and yet no doubt you live a very middle class life. I may not be everyones cup of tea on here but I don't try and be something I'm not. I vote Tory, I read the Mail,I like and agree with Trump and Farage, I think women's football gets way too much coverage and that immigration is out of control and I get bored of multi millionaire celebs bleating on about 'mental health. All very dangerous things to admit to on NSC and awaits the full weight of the NSC liberal elites onslaught.

I wouldn’t wait too long if I were you....they most likely have better things to do on a bank holiday.

If it’s unacceptable for grown ups to wear replica footie shirts then who would wear trainers unless they’re exercising?

I am a grown-up and I have arthritis in my hip. My consultant advised me to wear Aasics gel trainers at all times to cushion the impact on my hip. In younger healthier times gone by, I too used to wonder why grown-ups wore trainers when not exercising. Now we both know😁

To even mention immigration you must be a racist and to agree with Trump and Farage makes you a full blooded Nazi according to the left and the majority on this board. (although I think the Nazi's were socialist). If it's any comfort I totally agree with you on those points, although whether I vote Tory or Brexit Party remains to be seen. There are a few like minded people on here but it does get a bit tiresome and I tend to keep away from the political threads these days, you'd certainly never think we'd won the referendum. I can understand why you've only made 750 posts in 9 years. Best of luck.
