Gannon seen with Knight today in Hove

As discussed over dinner on Monday night.

During interviews for Albion job, JG 'eulogised' endlessly about why Stockport was such a lovely place to live. Different management job or not, he clearly didn't want to move from the area itself.

DK said his guess (nothing more than that) was that JG might end up at Blackpool.

That is all.

True for me too. Surely he has learned his lesson from trying to fix something that doesn't need fixing?

You'd hope so. Though I think we have a better manager now than we did this time last year, just a shame about the cock up in between! Slade has united the fans for the first time in quite a while, would be ridiculous to throw that away.

From DK himself?? That seems to knock most of the rumours on the head then. Looks very unlikely Gannon will be coming down here as manager anytime soon (apart from to lose on Saturday)

A move to Blackpool would make sense to me. I can't see him getting a job in the premier league so that would mean the championship. Of the three clubs in the northwest Burnley and Preston are going well at present so wouldn't be looking for a new manager just yet.

and if we do stay up will only be just.

Really? We could end up 5 points clear of relegation. When he started, I'd have never believed that, butcould easily have believed we'd be 5 points adrift of safety.

He's done a superb job, and if we are about to bring in Gannon, and offer the current manager another job somewhere in the new guys set-up, then it's groundhog day, and I would be livid.

But let's be honest here, we can't have learned NOTHING from last year. Slade will be offered the role, and if DK is talking to Gannon about the job, it would only be because there is a doubt Slade wants it.

Are we really taking a report of the Chairman of an at-risk-of-relegation club, and the manager of their final-day-of-the-season opponents meeting in a public place just 5 days before the game, seriously?

This is a wind-up.

If it were true the Football League would be climbing all over us and the bookies would be shouting from the rooftops

If he gives Gannon the job over Slade in the summer I think that'll be the last straw for me.

Maybe a campaign needs to be started to withhold renewal of season tickets until the manager for next season has been announced. If Slade gets stitched up over this in favour of Gannon, then the board need to be made aware of the possible consequences.

HHhhhhhmmmmm. So DK wants to talk to Gannon about the job. So he meets Gannon in the CAFE NERO in HOVE and lets WHINGY tag along. Forgive me while I:lolol::lolol::lolol:

Just suppose that DK wanted to to talk to Gannon about the job I think he would've found somewhere a bit less conspicuous, and probably not invited a player along either.

Either a) a wind-up or b) if they were there, just friends having a coffee.

I cannot believe this meeting took place... would be very poor timing... Dick may make stupid mistakes, but I douibt Gannon would...

Also, Slade MUST be offered the job... his record is fantastic...

This HAS to be a wind-up. Even IF their intentions were honourable it doesn't look good because of Saturday's match.

I can't see why they'd have to meet face to face if it was about players. Similarly, it would be folly to have a public meeting if it was about the Albion manager's job.

If the boot were on the other foot, imagine if Slade had been spotted in a Stockport cafe with their chairman this morning?

If Slade WANTS to the job next season and doesn't get offered it then Knight can DO ONE as far as I am concerned.

Before I have backed DK in every situation but if he screws over a manager who has done so well AND united the fans, then I would have to seriously consider whether I want to pay any more money watching this club.

I never said Whingy was at the meeting, someone else made that bit up and added that on their reply. Thats why the title is 'Gannon seen with Knight today in Hove'. Ignore the bits about Whing.

if true bit of strange timing, would have thought he would be up north sorting his team out for Sat

He has sorted his team out for Saturday, he's told them to lose so that he can choose which League One side he'd like to manage next season.

Ok just to appease the doubters and myself really, I have double checked with the source who I add is extremely reliable...usually!

The provenance has changed to, "it looked like Gannon from his picture when I checked". Don't shoot the messenger!

Flame on!
