Usually when PL players score they wheel off and celebrate, even if they know it’s dodgy. Presumably not to draw attention to the dodginess.
But Mitoma almost seemed to concede it was handball, eventhough it was a debatable call.
There were other occasions today when, on the pitch at least, we didn’t put as much pressure on the ref as we might.
Did we make the officiating team’s decisions easier ?
Are we less aggressive and in your face than others? Is that a good thing?

It’s remarkable that whether an incident took place on our goal line or theirs one thing for certain is that harry kane and his massive chin were right next the ref each and every time.

We’re no angels. Veltman for example. Moises & Mac love a roll around. Mitoma is a very honest player, I prefer it. He probably didn’t celebrate much because he saw the flag go up.

Take it in turns to have a go at him - might just have the desired effect eventually. Other teams do it - we don’t.
Trouble is - you can’t get in the ear of the real wallies who make the decisions (or not as the case may be) - they’re in a locked room in Stoke Poges!!

We’re getting better, but I agree with you.

Separately, I’ve played and coached football at a reasonable level, watched the Albion on and off for 48+ years. The quality of officiating has gone backwards at an alarming rate and players have not helped their continued cheating.

Naively or not, you just want the players to be honest. There was always players that went down easily (even Peter Ward), but it highlighted contact, more than an outright dive.

VAR has actually made things worse IMO, as it looks for minutiae rather than clear errors (MacAllisters is just wrong).

Sorry @DJ NOBO to whine….. just fed up with it all. Best time ever to be a Brighton fan, but the whole experience is being tainted by the officiating and technology.

We just looked nice yesterday in contrast to Spurs who have quite a potent mix of Kane trying to ref the game, Porro and a couple others feigning injuries and Romero, Høijberg and Perisic pushing, shoving, stamping and shirt pulling. It all got a bit obvious yesterday because the officials let them get away with it all.

It MUST be a tactic - which clearly works. And consciously or unconsciously refs gradually realise they are in the presence of super hero, England captain, national Treasure, Sir Harry Kane.

I thought it was only the captain (Lorie) that was allowed to speak to the ref but yet every decision you have Kane in the ref’s ear.

Unfortunately it does seem to have an impact. Brentford surrounded the referee for their second penalty appeal and it got given on VAR despite being a lot softer than the one we should have got.

FFS the team can't take it in turns to have a go at the ref because Gross and Dunk are ALWAYS in his face.
Mac Allister his to push his way past them to have a turn.

Nah you seemed ok in that sense, your players spoke to the ref as well, and besides with VAR making the big calls it's completely useless to have a go at the ref on the pitch

Yep. Mitoma knew his should have been a penalty - he should have got the whole team to stop playing until it was looked at properly.

Not that this in any way makes our players culpable for the array of corrupt decisions against us.
