[Albion] Games when you got injured

Not as rare as you might think I would suggest.

My starter for 10 is when Matthew Edwards got that winner against Pompey in an evening game in front of the South Stand. A long time friend punching the air in absolute scenes instead caught me square on the nose. I was reeling for 5 minutes...

Brum away, Dec '16. Scraped my shins to buggery on the seats in front celebrating Murray's winner. Felt much worse than it looks and that photo was after cleaning up most of the blood.

Almost got crushed to death when we played Bristol Rovers promotion game against the NS Gate lucky a copper saw the situation and opened he gate

I have struggled with a bad back since a sport injury in my early 20s. I rarely get to Brighton matches so I follow a non league side that my mate is involved with. This Saturday when brackley scored the first goal someone jumped on my back and I ended up giving him a piggy back for a while. It wasn't until the end of the match that I found it was the manager's brother. Nice fella.

My back is killing today. Worth it though because we qualified for the FA trophy final.

First NSC-sponsored match I attended at Withdean.

Details are generally hazy, but, with drink taken, I may or may not have used the white line in the middle of the road as a navigational aid from Withdean back to the safe haven of Preston Park while crawling on my hands and knees. Lasting souvenir of that day is - a decade and a half on - the deep GOUGE in me front door where I pathetically attempted to find my Yale lock while brandishing a matching Yale key. I'll be disappointed with that Yale lock/key effort.

Can't quite match your stupidity, but after the Reading match last season and after several drinks ..... can't remember where .... my friend escorted me safely to my front door where I slumped against upstairs neighbour's door bell and couldn't move
Apparently, young man opened shared front door and laughed

Came off second best in a clash of heads with a dry stone wall, outside Edgeley Park Stockport one evening in 2010. When I came to, spent the first half in an ambulance outside the ground but persuaded them I didn't need to go to A+E, blagged free entry and caught the 2nd half, including a late equaliser from Andrew Crofts on a mudbath of a Rugby League pitch.

Drink may possibly have been taken beforehand.

To be fair, this was in the olden days before we had Google Maps. Or indeed phones that did anything other than do calls and texts

On the other hand, taxis probably did exist in those bygone days for those capable of coherent speech

Not me but my friend Alex at Wolves away last season.

I’d driven up and he got the train. In their exuberance to get off the train and ‘into the Wolves’ our resident 14 yr old hoolies barged past him half way off the train steps and out the door, he stumbled on to the platform and went over on his ankle with a crack.

He limped to meet me at the ground, ankle swelling profusely. Went greyer and greyer through the first half, taken to the first aid room at
Half time and convinced them he just needed a tubigrip and some paracetamol.

Came out five minutes into second half watched the rest of the match taxi back to the station and straight to A and E back in London to be told ankle broken in two places. Ouch.

The Stephens equaliser in the infamous game against Boro on the last day a couple of seasons ago. My shins were absolutely smashed to pieces.

2015 Cardiff at home. Had to nip off on 86 mins (shock/horror!!) as had to get home for daughters party. Ran out of the only exit door open, turned left and was immediately poleaxed by the next door swinging into me, after being flung open from inside. Woke up in the middle of the concourse, staring up at the sky and police and paramedics - thinking I'd just scored a last-minute winner!! Never left early since,,,

Home match against Southampton at the Amex , where JFC got a couple of goals , jumped up after the first and proceeded to tear my calf muscle , very painful , could not walk for a couple of days

Not an injury. But we joined the raucous Block A of the Withdean South Stand for the season's staying up finale under Russell Slade, stalks of celery were being chucked around to a chant. My young son went to grab it, but permanently lost his specs in the bundle.
