And therein lies the issue. I enjoyed it whilst I watched it, but the moment I started to spend any time actually thinking about it, it began to frustrate me no end at just how poor the story and writing was. Maybe they'll rectify that over the coming few episodes, but there were still a ton of holes in that episode and if none of the remaining characters start questioning the battle plan over the coming episodes, then it's a massive sign that GOT the TV show really has lost the perspective that made it stand out in the first place.

to be fair it was always going to be a struggle .....how many great films /series are there with disappointing endings ......i just hope we get to see Sansa's minge ....then i'll be happy. Its been a ground breaking series so far , hopefully the finale will be worthy.

Loved that episode - a contrast to the epic visual spectacle of last week, it showed the other side of why people love this show.

Ok well I'll give the opposite point of view. I was baffled while watching it so let me put my thoughts here and see what you all think:

- Why did Tormund take the Wildlings back beyond the wall? Prior to the war all the wildlings wanted was to inhabit the lands between winterfell and the wall, now they have the chance they're going back to a place they know they will struggle to survive?
- Just leaving Ghost, seriously, these writers have clearly never had a dog, what the hell was that?
- Those ballistas taking out the dragon, dragons are supposed to be inpenetrable to things like that, hence why there was that giant crossbow in Kings Landing that might be able to kill a dragon, clearly no need when a regular ballista can wipe one out. Speaking of which how were they so accurate from miles away but missed Dany when she was point blank, with dozens of arrows?
- Jaime, one of the best character arcs in 7 seasons just goes "nah im a baddie now lmao bye" - What?
- Why did Cersei not just wipe out Dany and her little crew at the end? She has no honour, she has no sympathy, it makes no sense
- How did Dany not see all those ships when she was getting a birds eye view of an entire ocean? They were hidden behind some rocks so the other boats can't get them. Fine by me, but the dragons? They had a literal airforce and would have seen them but didn't?

There is more, but I've lost count of the stupid shit at this point.

I think that GRRM will finish his book and eventually HBO will have another crack at the last two series.

The show is great, but if you think too hard you'll get annoyed by all the BS plot points.

I would so love the 3 dragons to be the 3 forgings of lightbringer. 2 failed forgings now - and stretching it to regard Euron as the lion's ( Lannister ) blood - but *someone* will need a sword through the heart from *someone* to empower the last forging / dragon to defeat the ultimate evil ( hopefully a 2nd army of the dead etc... ).

Doubt it will be that epic though :nono:

Ep4 was horrific. Can’t even be arsed to list the brainless plot holes and story arcs. Waited 2 years for this nonsense. So annoyed.

That was a dreadful episode. Feel SO flat after. Easily the worst of Season 8.

Euron is SUCH a weak bad guy compared to Ramsey or Tywin, even Joffrey.

Cersei is such a hateful ****!!

Yet could’ve easily ended the whole series by just shooting a crapload of arrows and ballistas at Dany’s delegation. Proper Bond villain stuff to let her live for no reason whatsoever.

Should have ended this season at the end of episode 3 if we are going to get no more Bran visions / 3 eyed raven / Night King.
