A lot of the storylines do seem quite laborious. I do hope that it builds into a final crescendo where we will have a trial by combat featuring the mountain coming up against the hound. Also I think the wall will be coming down before seasons end.

With over 46 hours to fill so far it aint going to happen that quick tbh!

Riverlands: great Jaime and Edmure scene. Great Blackfish stuff. Great Pod + Bronn stuff. Great Brienne and Jaime stuff. Shame BF had to die, especially off-screen. In the book he's still alive and presumably travelling north to help Starks. I think he says something like "while I draw breath the war is not over". Shame.

Also Riverlands: Hound joins up with BwB. They're going north cos of whitewalkers. How do they know about them? Doesn't matter. LSH? Doesn't matter. Redemption arc? Nope. Rage and blood. Still works.

Bravos: A girl is no-one, actually she is someone! JK.

Mereen: Vary's leaves to go back and destabilise King's Landing. City is attacked, cool. Dany is back, shame.

King's Landing: Cersei is going to ruin (literally) everything.

We are 8 episodes in and we seem to have covered about 2 episodes worth of stuff.

Can't help but feel we are treading water until the next book is finished.

Still the best thing on TV by a country mile though.

Will be interesting to see what the 'rumour' that Cersei and Qyburn were talking about turns out to be.

I've read a few suggestions online and the most popular of them would certainly fit with the standard expectations of a big end to the season.

Pretty much how i feel about every episode tbf! People want the big wow episodes every week but if they got them it would ruin the build up to potentially great finales like we are expecting

Epic battle scenes, don't get me wrong, I just had one slight issue...Bolton's army was meant to be 6,000 but there is no way in hell that was 6,000 men in the battle. Slightly small scale.
