Anyone been tuning in to watch this?

Just finished up watching the finale, and it's been a blinder.

I've read all the books too so far, so I know what's going to happen, and it's still getting me excited for the next season, anyone else watching? Even better, anyone else watching and NOT read the books?

I'm watching and wondering what the books are like. Disappointed so far, but mostly at the acting (apart from the imp/dwarf). Story seems rather unoriginal, but it's beautifully filmed. Not really lived up to its potential (especially compared to the first episode of Camelot). Are the books better?

The books are incredible, suprised you think it's so unoriginal, maybe the next season will help you along, but then again, everyones tastes are different. :)

I haven't read the books and I would have to say its one of the best things I have seen on tv in long time. Quality. Well looking forward to the next series.

Really loved this series. And now I don't know how I'm going to wait until next Spring to see what happens next. I could probably cope with just a cliffhanger ending - the fact that pretty much everything is set up for a whole new series is just annoying!

Quite tempted to read the books but not sure I can justify the time, since they all seem to be about 800 pages long, and whilst I'm sure they're engaging and well-crafted, are probably pretty trashy fiction really. Also not sure I wouldn't prefer to find out what happens next on TV.

The idea that Game of Thrones is worse than Camelot is, erm, interesting!

Have read all the books and personally think you could not get a better treatment. Of course I always know whats going to happen next but still cant wait for series 2.

I have not read the books and I'm loving the series. A bunch of us watched the finale last night. I was hoping for maybe more action in the final episode, but it was a great first season overall.

Right here, right now
Watched the finale last night and now can't wait for S2 - and no, I haven't read the books. Recorded Camelot on Sky+ last week but haven't watched that yet.

I've really enjoyed the series, so much that i'm now reading the books. Unlike an earlier poster i think the acting has been great. Think the penultimate episode was better than the finale, especially the look on Cersei's face when her idiot son ordered the execution.

I have read and enjoyed all the books (can't wait for A Dance With Dragons next month - apparently its partly a prequel of sorts featuring Ned and Robert's war against Aerys), and I think the series has been done perfectly. Peter Dinklage as Tyrion has been brilliant, Joffrey is about the most slappable character in the history of television and the whole atmosphere of the series has captured the books perfectly for me.

Can't wait for Season Two.

Unlike an earlier poster i think the acting has been great.

My main gripe is that many of the actors sound like they're reciting lines. The dialogue is of the noble / grand / ancient / Shakespeare style, and it takes a very good actor to make it sound noble / grand, etc. Some can do it, some can't...

its been good but i'm a little disappointed that there wasn't more action scenes, especially as there's supposed to be a war on!

It's been an amazing series, the only disappointment was the last episode. thought there would be more action not just a trailer for the next series. I haven't read the books but i know what's going to happen because i looked up game of thrones on wikipedia and ended up reading the whole summary (quite annoying). It is also a little predictable anyway with the king dieing on a hunt etc.
