Although most of the occupants will be at home, so...

You'd make an absolutely rubbish burglar, can I just say that? :)

If it wasn't for the wind then I'd swear someone was trying to break in down stairs as I type but I know it's the wind so won't go and investigate. Just hope I've not tempted fate :)

West, West, West Sussex.
Haywards Heath checking in. The winds seem stronger tonight than they have for some time.

Yes. The strongest winds I've ever known in Haywards Heath. Just got home and I can report building site fence panels strewn across Butler Green Road. Motorbike down in south road. American Lane Wheellie Bins rolling around in the road and my roof is creaking like never before. I'm a bit scared.

It was absolutely howling here in Hants for the last couple of hours, but it's suddenly gone all quiet now.

Edit. Oh. No it hasn't.

Ferring sea front will be standing proud and solid hopefully for my brother and sister in law's stay over the weekend. Hopefully they'll leave the hot water and heating on for Monday when I make preparations for my longest ever summer holiday................

I thought it was dying down in LA (north, more Lyminster if i can get away with it...) but then it got blowy again. I'm hoping that being sheltered by other houses it means little damage.

Getting to work in Pulborough will be fun tomorrow morning though...i can imagine most of my route will require a snorkel.

Dustbin lid hit the porch window just before 10pm.

Still no sign of BBC South East. I thought they sent someone out to do a 'Going Live' report when a catastrophe like this hit Sussex.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Window-pane shaking gusts here in north London. I plan to wake for a morning run in about 7 hours. That should be some struggling fun. I'll best keep an out for roof slates and crows nests falling in my direction as i go.

I've just walked home from the pub and some of the gusts almost knocked me over. And I'm relatively sober.
