Presumably those that have mailed Brett to say they are doing the walk will get a mail with advice on timings etc or do we just turn up at 10:00 AM and do the walk ?

If you've mailed Brett he should have replied by email with details of start time and place (there are a couple of minor changes) and a link to book your coach travel to the Amex. If he hasn't please email him again.

Exactly this. Every one that is taking part needs to email Brett. We are trying to monitor numbers as we have had recommendations from the Police and Highways England in regards to numbers and safety.
Also, please be aware that there may be a change to the start time. If there is you will get an email in due course.

Guys
Just as a little note, we have an announcement in regards to the walk.
Brett's just jotted something down and asked me to put it up. This was something we always wanted to do when we first spoke about doing this walk, because we never thought it was going to take off the way that it did. We felt it only right to wait after Worthing United played their home game to release this.

Today The Robert Eaton Memorial Fund has topped up the generous donations to Jacobs REMF walk, by so many great people.

A further £2,500 has been added by us as recognition for the great work done by Jacob in his time with REMF.

This money, along with all the money donated generously by everyone else will go to Worthing United Youth Football Club.

They have recently been granted planning permission to build a training ground for their youth set up at the Rotary Grounds in Worthing.

Their new home will feature a total of ten football pitches of various sizes including 5v5, 7v7, 9v9 and 11v11 pitches to cater for all age groups from under 7s to under 18s.

All the money raised will go towards this project, helping to paying for goals, equipment, kit, pitch maintenance and eventually a new club house to ensure a healthy and safe environment for their kids to progress as footballers.

We would like to thank everyone for all kind donations, support and interest in Jacob's REMF walk, it has escalated to a level we didn't think was possible, and has the potential to be something quite brilliant in such sad circumstances.

For Jacob, Matt and all the other victims.

Thats absolutely brilliant, what a fantastic thing to build and develop after such a tragic loss.

I can't do the walk but have donated, I hope people keep donating and that you raise enough to build something that lasts and make a big difference to people in both Matt and Jacobs memory.

I have emailed Brett a couple of times in regards to timings, etc but not heard back - I hope I'm registered ok. Appreciate he's very busy with all this though. Has anyone else had a confirmation email?

Please find the link for the Just Giving page.
This also has the details of the walk. Anyone that wants to take part needs to contact Brett ASAP now. We were asked to cap numbers and keep an eye on them. Also you will get a confirmation email with a link to booking transport back to Shoreham/Amex.

Hi all. I've had confirmation that Derek Martin, a photographer for the Worthing Herald Series, will be arriving at the start of the walk to take some snaps. The Worthing Herald Series covers the Worthing Herald (funny that), Lancing Herald, Shoreham Herald, Steyning Herald, and the Littlehampton Gazette.

Also just spoken with Lorraine at Splash FM. She said unfortunately they are unable to attend the walk but do plan to cover it in their news bulletins. She said later today she is hoping to do a pre-recorded interview with Brett about it.

I've also followed up with all the nationals I've spoken to and local broadcasters; all of which tend to make decisions at the last minute so you may have some rock up on the day without any prior warning. I'll keep on top of it for the next couple of days and feedback.

Thanks for letting us know mate. PM me if you need anything. I've got a few bits to do tonight and tomorrow but let us know.

PLEASE NOTE. REGISTRATION HAS NOW CLOSED.
Due to the volume of numbers we have had to stop accepting any more people.
Apologies if you were hoping to still register but we have to think of health and safety and the other road users.

Email from Sky News:

I’ve passed this on to my colleague Louise who will be in tomorrow looking at Saturday’s output. I fear that we’re very stretched for crews on Saturday due to the Labour Leadership announcement so we may struggle to get a camera down to Shoreham. But fingers crossed!

Wishing you lots of luck for Saturday.

I got the walk mentioned on Eagle Radio, based in Guildford, on the breakfast show.

Hopefully a bit more publicity and some interest which might lead to more donations!

See you tomorrow at 9.30
