Webster returning to the left of the centre backs ?

Unfortunately yes. You want your most experienced CB playing in the middle of the back three as he has a huge role in directing the other defenders so its wise to have Dunk or Veltman in that role and I dont want to **** around with the position of White more than has already been done. That leaves BDB or Webster and since Fulham are not much of an aerial threat I'd go for Web.

Of course could also go with White, Veltman, Dunk or similar configuration but as it stands its as much as a risk as a possible gain since Webster got some experience in the role by now.

It’s fooking Fulham FFS. Reading this it’s like we’re playing Bayern Munich.
So they drew at home 1-1 with Liverpool, um didn’t we just do that?
We’ve had a bad result and a shocking 20 minutes, it was against one of the form teams in this division.
Could Fulham beat us? Yes. Should we be shitting it? Seriously?

Exactly....we played man United off the park, should of beaten the current champions(a 1 on 1 and missed penalty),could of been 2 up against a very good Leicester side which would of changed the game. I know we didn't and it's all ifs and buts but, we're not a bad side and relegation fodder because of a poor 20 mins against Leicester. Likewise, we're not great but, we are creating bloody good chances that we should be putting away. The time to really worry is when we don't create chances and I think the lads will be hurting after Leicester and will put it right. I hope this don't come back to bite me though!!

One revealing comment about us on that Fulham forum: "They are a ‘nice’ side. Just the kind of side that is not going to be great in a dog fight. The quicker we can drag them down the better."

I'd love us to prove that wrong, but sadly I fear we won't. Our best chance is that their players think that if they can come within 10 minutes of beating Liverpool, then it'll be easy against us, and we can hit them on the break as they attack us.

Townsend mad the point repeatedly on Sunday night.

"They're a nice team to play against"

"You would like to play against Brighton"

It is rather worrying.

Bissouma is doing a magnificent job, but he needs a lot more from others around him.

It was more like 70 minutes against Leicester, added to being awful at home to Burnley and West Brom.

Even when we're playing well we always look vulnerable.

Absolutely. Our 2020 record speaks for itself. We are in deep shit, let's be honest. There aren't really any signs that we're going to turn things around considering we lose when we play poorly and we very rarely win when we play well, and haven't for a long time now.

PS: if you have Sky - and are going to watch this game tomorrow night on Amazon Prime - then Sky launched their Prime app yesterday meaning you can now watch the match without faffing about with HDMI cables and laptops or USB sticks.

I'm not really a big fan of Townsend, maybe I never liked ITV coverage, but he did rather get into elements of us where it was very difficult to disagree. Not just the quotes you mention, the examination of us off the ball, out of possession. It was a 2-fold worry, 1 for us, and 1 for Townsend being insightful.

You’re what they might call a visionary bedwetter.

Sadly, I agree. Fulham are literally a different side to that which got trounced at the start of the season. They look ready to make a kill. We look like wounded, slow wildebeest.
As for Sheffield “yet to win this season” United. Well, it’s written in the stars isn’t it?

Yes, DJ NOBO, that pretty much gives expression to my vague "feelings"! I must say I'd be a lot more confident tomorrow night if we could play the Albion "fantasy" side you list at the bottom of your posts! If only!

As much as I'm enjoying this thread (and our new team and attacking style), we still have defensive frailties and no proper striker. I would think your lot should be really up for it. As for Burn, there's a lot of Fulham who've been scratching their heads over how he's been keeping a place in a Premiership defence. May the best team etc etc

Ryan

White Dunk Webster

Lamptey Biss Alzate March

Lallana (Gross)

Welbeck Maupay

Which for me at least is our best team. Veltman is unlucky other than that picks itself for me.

Please not Ryan. He needs a break. Give Sanchez another chance ffs
