I blame the recruitment team for this but expect the issue to be sorted by Thursday.

We really need that special player in, the sort of Nunez striker we’ve been after for years and years.

That second sentence highlights why the first is charmingly optimistic.

I thought we were quite poor overall and Fulham deserved their win.

It was one of those “off” days that every team has every now and again throughout the season, in every division from the Premier League to the park. Constantly slipping, heavy touches, unkind deflections, an own goal - a general lack of quality crossed with individual errors with a bit of bad luck thrown in.

On the positive side, as a loss goes it wasn’t particularly horrible, like losing to a poor hoofball Burnley’s sole shot on target or something. Fulham set up very positively, played some really nice stuff and showed good grit and spirit. Mitrovic led the line superbly well - Dunk and Webster’s poor performances made him look even better.

Impressed by Fulham - they’ve got some very skilful players and link up nicely - thought Pereira looked superb in particular today.

We’re always going to have a few of these performances throughout the season - if we can bounce back with a good performance and ideally a win on Sunday, we’ll be laughing and putting this down as the outlier that it is.

I did feel we looked tired and leggy - perhaps mentally as much as physically - which seemed to manifest itself in key moments including at the death, when repeated brain farts prevented us getting out of our own penalty box.

‘‘Twas a day of individual errors (egregious Spotters Badges for Sanchez, Pervis, Dunk, Webster) and meeting a good side who were well up for it.

Onto Sunday!!!

Bad night at the office We were very poor. Fulham were not that good. 2 goals given away. 1st Who it was our player had that had no reason not to track Mitro. Instead received ball unmarked. 2nd goal. Who gave Gave ball away in attacking third that started there move ? 2 basic mistakes 2 goals

Just too many individual errors which was unusual for us but we were due a dose of coming to earth. It’s still a great start to the season. Onwards and upwards.

Bit of a worry that he didn't start Undav with Welbeck sub. Not good for his confidence. Really hope we sign a forward to replace NM/challenge Welbeck but I seriously doubt it.

We've got two days rest on Leicester for Sunday. Got to make it count.

Pervis at fault for both goals. With Cucu playing, we’d have conceded neither.

There, I’ve said it. He’ll come good though. Just needs EPL experience.

Pervis is clearly a liability right now, even at LWB/left mid. 3 defensive mistakes in 2 games. Two cost us goals and last game vs Leeds it should have cost us too, really surprising

I quite like March but missing that header was important to the way the game went, go 1-0 up and you seize the initiative . That miss is as bad as Pervis losing Mitovic.

There were though a few bad performances and most of the other performances were not very good. Mac was the exception and our MOTM.

  • Poor starting 11 selection (overestimation from potter or message to TB?)
  • Mostly poor performances.
  • No hold up play until DW came on.
  • Great Mitrovic performance.

Annoyed, frustrated, it happens.

The upside is it cools the jets from the media hyping up Potter as Christ Reincarnate.

Tips to the players: consider wearing longer studs.
Request to GP: please don’t ever start another game with no striker on the field.

Cucurella was the exception, not the norm. Can’t just find the next one just like that, or everyone would do it.

Pervis will be a decent left back for us, but don’t compare him to Cucu. You’ll think worse of him.

Tough game. We move on.

Disappointing result, not at our best. Never really felt like we went for it and then we were 2 down. Hope we give it a better go on Sunday.

Frustrating thing was he did everything right in getting into the position, got great power on it, and height, but terrible direction. His confidence in front of goal is definitely at rock bottom - or certainly will be after the last few games

It was a crazy own goal from Dunk. You can't plan or legislate for that. That put us 2 down, and it was difficult to get back from that. Fulham defended well in the last 20 minutes.

Now we need to rest, go through the mistakes, learn from them and prepare for the next game.
