Are we going to pay for that stand the same as we paid for their old one?

I remember when the "old" stand was built.
I was told that when we bought Teddy Maybank from Fulham for, I think £ 238,000, that's exactly the short-fall they owed to pay for it.

Looks like they've taken a bit of the Amex and plonked it onto Craven Cottage - what with the arch, and even the back of the terrace visible.

Use to love standing on the Hammersmith End from time to time,the wit and banter was worth it.

Great use of a tiny space on the river bank.

The one side (main stand) is listed & they'd be loathed to destroy it, and they've already maximised the ends with 2 cheap lego stands.

Imagine they built it, and straight after the completion of the stand, the bank caves in. 'stand down the thames'

I haven't been to a huge amount of grounds in my time - probably 30ish - but Craven Cottage is definitely my favourite.

Easy to get to. Old fashioned. Lots of pubs round the area. Get the tube to Putney Bridge and a pleasant walk through Bishops Park. Or a short stop from Clapham Junction and a wander down over the bridge.

T'was my closest ground for two years.

I remember it before the stand was built and it was uncovered terrace. Also saw the Boat Race there one year.
