What amazes me is how so many NSC members really need a moderator to police Palace trolls in the first place. We all know the best way to encourage these boring idiots is to give them the attention they crave. Like truculent children, you ignore them and they will go away, probably to a Milwall or Charlton forum. In the future I suggest all NSC poster merely tag all replies to their messages as ITT (ignore the troll) and leave our moderators to focus on managing the genuine content. And by the way, am I allowed to say I reckon the mods on here do a blinking good job?

Good idea. I think I'll reply to every palace troll post with a simple 'ok mate' from now on. Every time.

One more thing, and I'm not criticising whoever runs the Palace BBS site as I know first-hand that running a busy forum is largely a complete pain in the arse, and decisions are made in good faith based on what you believe to be right to keep things moving along smoothly.

It seems the BBS way of dealing with nearly all away fans is to immediately restrict their rights so they can only post in the 'away end'. This is a quiet backwater of the site that pretty much no-one ever visits, as has been so well illustrated on this thread:

Most Palace fans would not of even been aware of the thread in the away fans forum as i certainly wasn't until i saw the above post as not a part of the forum i ever visit.

If people take the time to register on a forum, I think they deserve a chance to join in with the community properly. If they are anti-social, they get warnings. If they are really anti-social they are told to leave. I think this is a far more respectful and, dare I say it, grown-up way of dealing with people of all supporting persuasions.

If someone gets really upset about a post because the username associated with it is "CPFC 3 - 0 BHAFC", but they wouldn't mind the same post from user "BHAFC 3 - 0 CPFC" they they have bigger issues than an internet messageboard.

You obviously find it perfectly acceptable that posters such as "dougie"..the well known Palace troll...sends totally unsolicited four letter tirades via Pm to me. Does he? Do I? Abuse and threats in private messages is not acceptable from anyone. But as the messages are, as the name suggests: private, the user receiving any such threats should use the report option that is on each and every private message to flag up the abuse to a moderator so action can be taken.

I can find no record of you ever having done that which, being honest, doesn't really surprise me.

Incidentally...I do agree with you very strongly, that we do have more in common with most Crystal Palace supporters.....undoubtedly so. The ones we don't have anything in common with are the collection of Crystal Palace saddos who regularly post on this forum. The trolls I understand. The ones I don't understand are those such as "dougie" and "SE20", who find the desperate need to post thousands of postings on a rivals messageboards. Why...? They contribute nothing of interest and I can only presume they have no friends....are groomers...or possibly even ...paedophiles...?
