Spoke to the ticket office today, apparently Albion are in talks today with Spurs about the allocation. We want 7,000 tickets but it seems Spurs are not keen and we are having trouble getting even 15%, sounds strange to me but can they do this?

Oh yes and send your application for tickets in now they ARE accepting them!!

I sent mine in yesterday. Don't really care what tickets I get!

They HAVE to give us 15% of capacity. The capacity can be reduced because of segregation but as we are caregory C I would thinking this would be minimum. We should get just under 5000 tickets. Not sure what the club are on if they think they can sell 7000!!!

Mind you it's nice to see them go for it!

We sent credit card details, blank cheque would be fine though, although we are season ticket holders it seems anyone can apply

We sold over 5500 when we played Liverpool away in the FA cup back in the early 90's.

We took 30,000 to Cardiff only 6 months ago.

Selling 7000 tickets for a match against a famous London club is not beyond us!

Can't see Spurs giving us 7000 straight away though but maybe extra may be released depending on how the sale of home tickets goes over the next couple of weeks.

26. DISTRIBUTION OF TICKETS

(a) All Rounds Preceding the Semi-Finals

In all matches preceding the Semi-Finals, the Visiting Club shall have the right to claim up to 15% of all accommodation for which tickets are issued providing these tickets are in a fully segregated area, and subject to the following regulations:

(ii) The tickets allotted to the Visiting Club, if numbered and reserved, must be of equal value to those retained by the Home Club.

(iii) In cases of replayed matches, the Visiting Club must make a request for tickets immediately after the drawn game.

(iv) The Visiting Club shall be responsible for the payment of all tickets asked for and allotted, unless otherwise agreed between the Clubs in writing with a copy sent to The Association. All questions in dispute shall immediately be referred to The Association for resolution by the Council.

(v) The Visiting Club should settle with the Home Club for sales of tickets on or before the day of the match.

(vi) Any tickets not sold by the Visiting Club should be returned to the Home Club with their statement of tickets sales.

(viii) Where disabled facilities are provided, a Visiting Club shall have the right to claim up to 15% of this accommodation.

(ix) Where it is deemed desirable, the Council shall have the right to vary the allocation of tickets to the Visiting Club, or require a match to be made all ticket.

Another reason not to get 7000 tickets.

So the problem might be:

Albion: We want our 15% - 5,500 tickets please.

Spurs: We can give you 4,500.

Albion: We want the 15% - that'll be 5,500 please.

Spurs: We don't have an area that holds 5,500 - it would be 4,500 or 7,000.

Albion: We'll take the 7,000 then please.

Spurs: Will you sell them all?

Albion: Probably not, but we're entitled to 15% and if all you can give us is 7,000 then that's your fault for designing your stadium so poorly you feckin' idiots.

Or something.

I don't think we ever took 7,000 fans away even when we had gates of 28,000 week in week out, except for the cup semi final at Highbury.

I think 4,500 will be fine. Everyone who wants to go will get in easily with that allocation and we won't leave empty seats.

That does put a different complexion on it.

Take the 4,500, then go back for more if the demand is a lot oversubscribed. If Spurs have sold them in the meantime, too bad. This has to be a money-maker for us to fund an extra player, not a money-drainer.

Anfield in 91 I think, 8000 fans one end of the ground.

The allocation of revenue between the Clubs (45 per cent of revenue each, after deducting match expenses) doesn't depend on which supporters are in the ground or where the tickets were sold.

Palace were given just under 5,000 tickets for the third round last year - on a reduced capacity of just over 32,000 (ie 15 per cent). Presumably the reduced capacity was to provide for segregation.

What about the 4,000 applicants for West Ham tickets? Add to the fact that its against a bigger club (at the moment) and its the FA Cup and 27,000 were prepared to do a 400 mile round trip to Cardiff, I think we could sell 7,000.

If the police have set is at Cat C then that means more security not less. A match with Cat A status is one with the least probabilty of trouble going through B to C1 upto C5 ( I think ) meaning almost all out war is expected.
