I do not think women enjoy food as much as men. Always worried about eating too much. We men are able to anticipate a meal with an enthusiam unknown to our ladies.
Look at this thread and the others that appear about grub. Men only it seems to me.

I am not 100% convinced about slow cookers and those halogen ovens as I am not convinced that the contents get hot enough to kill off any bacteria or germs. 1 son and my mother swear by theirs, but my wife prefers to put the meat in a low oven rather than use our slow cooker.

Halogen Ovens rock. Loverly moist joints, the roast potatoes, you can see when they are exactly the right colour and crispyness. MMMM.

Beef stew progress update...

Just had a taste and job's a good 'un! Lovely and rich... tender meat...

Still an hour until the Mrs gets here - there might not be any left!

Have to report that the salmon kedgeree was up to its usual standard and has filled me up nicely for an evening vegetating on the sofa in front of the telly!

Prawn stir fry a bit below par (rice too sticky).

Will make a stew tomorrow however and use up the parsnips and beetroots from the garden for winter roasties to go with it.
