Bigger stadia have been built quicker without the accelarated programmes

Finance won't be a problem

Metal prices have been steadily falling for 2 weeks now and are still expected to slide further

:lol:

I can't say that convinces me of anything.

Of course bigger stadiums have been built faster, but on a programme that was ALWAYS priced up to be built at that speed,an "accelerated programme" is when you go back to the contactors and negotiate how you can build it faster than was originally priced. However you look at it we will start late (months late) and therefore what was once a July finish, would suddenly be September / October if built to the same programme, and then you need to pay for an "accelerated programme" to make the timeframe of the project shorter.

How will finance not be a problem, do you know something about the credit crunch that you could share with us. The cost of financing is going up, so we need to be aware of that, and would undoubtedly have been able to agree a cheaper financing package 6 months ago. The cost is rising, no two ways about that.

As for metal prices, all I know is what I've seen, and we've had two sizeable price rises at work from out metal suppliers so far in 2008 (total of about 30% rise) and we have been warned that there may be a further 15% price rise in September. That suggests to me the cost of the stadium will also be rising. Again if you are privvy to information that I don't know about, I would be keen to hear about it.

You really - only a complete SPANNER would claim that delays before building work has even STARTED is a good thing! :D

I couldn't give two hoots if you know people or have any information about the project. Currently, there's been f***-ups galore all along the process, and we still haven't started building yet. It's a shambles, and i've voicing my concern about the future stages of the process. :thumbsup:

Seriously, don't waste your time.

Everythings fine, nothings a problem, we'll have too much money to build it, steel is as cheap as chips and the pixies will have the whole thing done by spring.

Who, the muppetts? I always got them mixed up. Was kermit a muppett or was he just in the Muppett Show? And were Bert and Ernie in it or were they in Seaseme Street?

:lolol::lolol:

I think thats Bert and Ernie at the back with Woodchip and Barrel of Fun. The scary one in the middle played the drums and lived in a dustbin? Kermit and Miss Piggy at the front and I think the one with the big nose is Gonzo. Any more names?
(Can't see Dave's Eagle in there)

The doctor is Barrel of Fun right? And Fozzie Bear was the one on the left of Miss Piggy with the hat on? Cant say I liked it. I found it all a bit disturbing to be honest.

I've always felt it would take lomger than we were hoping. A whole year late seems likely to me.

Anyone I've spoken to at work - I'm in the construction industry - thinks we'd have no chance of being finished in time when I said we'd be turning earth Sept / Oct.

It was never planned to begin in September.
