Will you be in the home or away end mate? Never been there before but hopefully it hasn't got a walk as big as the one we did around the MK stadium. Looks like i will be forking out the 70 odd quid if there is no free travel.

away end.

I may be doing a bit on BBC Radio Yorkshire ( or what ever its called), having received a call this morning from a guy I met a couple of years ago when we won with Robinson hat trick. Turns out he is the local commentator for West Yorkshire teams and we went to school together.

I can't honestly believe what a load of cock and bull this thread is! Why would the directors dig into their pockets to fund the travel of away fans who would probably, in the main, already be going to the game anyway. Especially as it is not like we need 2000 fans at Huddersfield to motivate the team bearing in mind our away form is superior to our home form. If you were a betting man, and I'm sure there are many on here that are, you would bet we are more likely to win the two away games than the two home ones. On that basis, the club should do what they can to fill Withdean and try and pick up the wins there. End of the day, it doesn't affect me as I can't get to away games and as a sth have already paid for the home ones.
so what ??

Crap Town
free coach travel might see an extra 1000 travelling up that wouldn't if they had to fork out £70 to get there and back.

Once they connect the bluebell railway to East Grinstead I will be able to start away trips on a steam train. Woo hoo!!!!

I am not sure why they should lay on free travel, when we take big away support we lose ie Orient, Milton Keynes. When we take 279 we win ie Hereford!

If you look at Premiership teams they often lay on free travel when the game is on Sky ie they use some of the extra TV dosh to pay for the coaches. That is exactly what Brighton did for Shrewsbury and Luton.

I think the Prem clubs do it becuase Sky move their games from 3PM on a sat and it is harder to travel at some of the times the games are played.

I agree there should not be free travel. I know times are hard but some people constantly want something for nothing.

It might cheeky to ask for free travel, but if you don't ask the question, you don't have a hope. I still think there's a chance the club might make the decision it's worth it. I certainly hope so.

Well if they do do it, don't complain when season ticket prices don't come down or we can't afford to sign a player on loan next season cos we spunked the money on your free day out.

Cant you just get 5 people in a car and spend 15 quid each on petrol?

The club have to do what's right for the current situation, and in my opinion, getting a couple of thousand screaming fans to support the side at Huddersfield might help the team get a result, which we need to stay up...
Let's face it, the season ticket prices will probably stay the same at best anyway, and I don't think the budget for next seasons squad will be affected by the board putting their hands in their pockets to pay for our travel up there.

If they decide not to, fine. It's not a problem, their decision. But they miss out on having all of us fans up there, so it's their decision to make.

Why should they miss thousands of fans going? If we can still stay up with a win, we will take 2 thousand anyway. I seriously doubt there are that many fans who will not go simply because they can't afford it. Our away support is excellent anyway.

Its not the cost so much,as the time, you lose almost the day and for what?
The best we can achieve is staying in Div 1 and its a struggle to attend home matches to watch the standard of football in this league
