Its because I've said it about 50 thousand times before, all have been released by clubs in this league, we need better than that I'm afraid, plus there is no way Gus would go for those players as they do not fit in with the way we play.

Otsemobor, played 5/6 times in the Premier league aged 20ish, played almost every game for Norwich 2 seasons running in the Championship, and over 30 games for Norwich and Southampton (2 of the best teams in our league) this season?

Doherty, played almost every game in what was by far the best team in the division, experienced defender with premiership and championship experience, and chips in with a few goals?

Agreed.

It really wouldn't surprise me if the majority of Gus's summer signings are players from overseas that barely any Albion fan has heard of. Here's hoping for a bit of continental FLAIR!

Exactly. Just because a player is released it doesn't mean that they are rubbish. Crofts was released by Gillingham last year wasn't he, in the division below? And he has become an integral part of our team and our player of the season.

Otsemobor is notoriously inconsistent, hence he's never made it at any of his clubs. Ankergren, for the third time, is crap, hence Leeds would rather take Arsenal's fourth choice keeper on loan next season. Doherty is old and slow.

Michalik, OK, I'd have him at this level, but the rest of them? Please.

Well, whenever I've seen Otsemobor he has played well...

On the Saints boards they were all questionning the need for their interest in Calderon, on the basis of "What's wrong with Otsemebor?". Mostly pretty happy with his contribution, in a team that garnered 83 points...

Poyet was at spurs with Doherty, don't rule it out we all know we need experience at the back.

I aslo read he is still only 30 !...would be ideal in my opinion.
He came 3rd in there player of the season still also, must be on big bucks i pressume.
Still maybe Gus can tempt him if he dosent get a better offer.

Sean Thornton ? Always seemed to play well against us and would be decent back up.

I'm very surprised Orient let him go to be honest, he's been one of the most technically gifted and creative midfield players in League One over the past three or four years. I still vividly remember his last-minute screamer that beat us at Brisbane Road a year and a bit ago.

I don't think it'd work out for him at Albion though - fitness is such an important thing to Gus, and I'd have my doubts over if he could get fit and stay fit with us.

As you said, decent back-up perhaps, but that's about it if we're looking to challenge for what is already looking to be the strongest and most competitive looking third tier ever next season.

Not on the list but Jamie Cureton might be worth a punt
5 - 8 years ago I would have agreed but not now.

Sean Thornton would be a worthwhile signing but apparently likes 'cola' too much and as I said earlier we had the wrong Thornton on loan.

Anyone who thinks that a manager who would ship out the likes of Cox and Dickinson, for off field habits, would sign Sean Thornton, is MENTAL.
