He looked about 70, 40 years ago! I believe he was the official biographer for the Kray twins and lately he's been doing 'Britains most evil killers', and The world's most evil killers'. Fred is something of an institution. We've all grown up with him! Happy retirement Fred!

My late Auntie worked with him on the newspapers and he loves the lay-dies by all accounts.......good on him I say!

Still remember watching him and Jack Hargreaves on How....what a great programme that was.

Happy ReFredment Tire...

Is that your opening Gambit?

Good work Sir - I used to enjoy watching that as a kid.

I'm sure he's been around longer than that. Wasn't he on Southern Soccer in the 60s?

Take your word for it as that was before my time but the story about him retiring mentioned the length of time presenting local news.

There is a bit of it floating around Youtube.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
But can he play left back?

Or even better, as 20 goal a season forward?

Scored an own goal when on trial as a defender on trial at Villa, so probably not what we need at the moment

he must surely go down as one of the most popular TV faces of all time ..

comes across as warm, caring, funny etc. I suppose his only weakness is being Pompey

Met him once. As warm in the flesh as he is on the telly.
