Lampard is actually quite well educated, Frank snr caould afford to pay for his schooling.

Acker79, I wonder why the red tops would try to paint him as a sulking child? It suits their agenda, they love it. Listen to it on the link, Lampard sounds like a normal bloke, the DJ sounds like a pompous cock trying to justify why any of this was any of his business.

What a complete COCK that presenter is! Talking as if he knows Lampard's life better than Lampard does himself.

Stupid idiot should feel ashamed. I very much doubt it though, as these kind of people have an answer to everything.

I don't know if it's the way the sun article was written or the way I read it. Perhaps a little of both. I'm familiar with the guy from his time on the wright stuff, when I used to watch it. He always seemed bored and half arsed, as if most of the argument was beneath him.

Personally I think FL has done a good thing to have a debate live on air as show his emotions without lawlers and the rest. I feel sorry for the guy 'cos while I may not be his biggest fan he is dealing with something that happens to normal people every day yet he has his life scrutinised constantly by the press and its good to see someone stand up for themselves. I accept that he gets paid ALOT of money for what he does and therefore has to accept his high profile stature yet its nice to see someone be a man and go live on-air and fight his corner with dignity. Also fair play to the commentator for admitting that he is very much part of the media machine that drives such stories.

Night night all.

That DJ is a prize bell-end with extra cheese. I've had the misfortune to catch some of his show once or twice while in the car, and he's unlistenable.

Great work from Lampard. I'd never be able to stay that calm in the same circumstances. The DJ is deliberately misinterpreting the story to imply Lampard's kids are living in some rat-infested, council flat or similar when nothing could be further from the truth - the lowest form of gutter journalism.

For him to claim that discussing peoples' private lives is an "important part of democracy" makes me sick. Maybe if they're a politician who preaches family values and is therefore being hypocritical, but otherwise? Nope...

Props to Frank Lampard for putting this twat in his place.

Shamefully, this will act as a good PR stunt for James O'Brien, and you can be sure that the listening figures for his show will go through the roof now (providing he is not sacked).

He's a shock jock, this is what they do.

To be honest I'm a bit ambivalent to this story having caught up on it today.

I hate that style of radio presenting and all the stations do it. It's quite lazy.

On the other end if you choose to live your life in the spotlight, take the huge sponsorship deals, etc.. etc.. well it's expected.

There are plenty of examples of professional footballers who we know little about because they are very succesful in keeping themselves out of the spotlight off the field.

If the top footballers need advice about handling the media, I suggest they ring Paul Scholes up before Max Clifford.

"Hes a fat, overpaid wanker"
"He doesn't care about playing for his country"

Fat - No. looks in pretty good shape to me, runs more distance in a game than I could ever dream of.

Overpaid - Maybe but prob on an acceptable rate considering what he brings to Chelsea compared to what other Premier stars are on. Also an International regular.

Wanker - How would you know?

Care about playing for his country - Also how would you know? Looks like he cares to me.

I don't understand all this negativity to certain England players, surely we should get behind the lads instead of constantly moaning about misplaced passes etc.
I think some people read The Sun too much!

I better let you in on a (rather obvious) point about the post you quoted - Snoobs put those accusations about Lamps in quotations to illustrate they are the usual mantras people seem to level at FL.
Snoobs followed be calling them "usual rubbish", which they really are.

The whole 'fat Frank' insult is pathetic really, he's one of England's best midfielders and a constant for his club. As another player from West Ham's training grounds (which fill the Premiership and include several England players), he looks to me to be a great and professional lad who almost always plays fairly - and can hit a moving ball with unerring speed and accuracy.

Wasn't a pop at Snoob, just points made to people in general who bash certain players.
Guess my post would prob read better if I had used the word "they" instead of "you".
Soz Snoob!

Frank Lampard is one of the best English footballers I've ever seen, his touch and technique are just amazing, he is a simply magnificent footballer and he is so much better than some people seem to realise. ??? Some people can't appreciate genius.
