Actually they weren't. Palace had a decent first 5 minutes, and Townsend got a lucky deflection for the goal, and that was the end of anything from Palace in the first half. Man U were poor in the first half, but still better than Palace, it was just Man U's unforced errors and lack of invention in the final 3rd that kept Palace in front.Can't be bothered to read through the entire thread, but Palace were very much the better team in the first half
Rashford improved things for Utd, and it was just one quick bit of thinking from the free-kick (not sure it should have been a free-kick) and a good finish that put Palace 2 up against the run of play. Only once Utd levelled at 2-2 did Palace start playing again.
Utd 69% possession, 17 shots to 10, 8 on target vs 4. It was only the order of the goals and timing that made it look unlucky, Palace were pretty poor.
Feel sorry for their decent supporters.
