Can't be bothered to read through the entire thread, but Palace were very much the better team in the first half
Actually they weren't. Palace had a decent first 5 minutes, and Townsend got a lucky deflection for the goal, and that was the end of anything from Palace in the first half. Man U were poor in the first half, but still better than Palace, it was just Man U's unforced errors and lack of invention in the final 3rd that kept Palace in front.

Rashford improved things for Utd, and it was just one quick bit of thinking from the free-kick (not sure it should have been a free-kick) and a good finish that put Palace 2 up against the run of play. Only once Utd levelled at 2-2 did Palace start playing again.

Utd 69% possession, 17 shots to 10, 8 on target vs 4. It was only the order of the goals and timing that made it look unlucky, Palace were pretty poor.

Feel sorry for their decent supporters.

Completely agree Trig but you do realise that you're talking to a Palace fan there don't you? That's why he's making no sense. The poor sad wretch.

Oh, no I didn't realise :)

I imagine some others on here would have thought Palace were doing better, simply because they were ahead and we expect so much more from Utd, but it wasn't skilful defending that kept Utd at bay, it was just poor passing and a half dead Pogba. Palace were poor. They're lucky to be playing Stoke and West Brom at the end though, so that's a free 6 points.

On the other hand we really needed a Palace defeat so the right result for the Seagulls.

I'm not so sure about WBA and Stoke being a free 6 points. If both were already relegated, they may well play more freely, without the burden of hope and expectations. Relegated teams often get a bounce when it is too late.

A reporter on Talksport has just said " This Palace team are too good to go down". The kiss of death, hopefully.

Oh I like that. I'm hoping West Ham have another one of their famous too good to go down seasons as well

Can you also imagine how they must feel each time they see Glenn on the scoresheet? That must really grate on them. FFS [emoji23]

Gary Neville also said that last night. I wish these pundits would say who the worse teams are.

The current Palace 1st team aren't necessarily too good to go down (whatever that means) but their best 11 (with everyone back from injuries) should never be involved in a relegation scrap.

I guess the key points will be;

When are their 'stars' returning?
Will they be able to make enough difference?

Makes Neville a crap pundit then, hasn't he noticed where Palace have been in the table for much of the season?

Whatever happened to " The table doesn't lie "?

In fairness I thought their fans made a very decent noise - a very good "12th man" as they say.
Shame about the 11 on the pitch although Benteke looked impressive......... as a centre back.

The thing I really REALLY enjoyed about that Matic strike was the reaction of the Palace fans behind the goal. When it hits the back of the net, almost to a man they physically RECOIL, before the hands go on heads and faces are planted into palms, as the full horror of what just happened properly hits them.

I could watch that all night. In fact I think I might. I just want to drink in the shock, pain and abject misery of every single face behind that goal, and wallow in the despair. Its better than porn.

Do..... do you by any chance mean.... THIS?
