Interesting admission from the Government that Putin has been actively funding and ultimately influencing UK politics.

Hardly a revelation - that has been known for years.

Yes and no, AFAIK the Government has never admitted that Putin has directly and effectively, albeit insidiously, interfered in internal UK politics?

IMO its quite an admission.

Interesting lot this aren't there ?

So hell bent ideologically they appear have taken their eye off the next election and even the concerns of their core voters.

I genuinely don't understand them.

A different take - their core voters will see the fuel price freeze (whatever that is) as brilliant, and will accept the generally high fuel prices (due to no fault of the government) in exchange for tax cuts. Fracking is not a word they would use. Nothing to see here.

Such a shame that we have to rape Mother Earth of everything she has.

Yet..

Every day the Moon moves literally trillions of tons of water up and down around our coast. Free energy.
How do we exploit it?
We don't.

We, as a human race, are pathetic.

seen many proposals over the years, they fade away. engineers say common problems, difficult to scale from test models, hostile environment for mechanical structures, and the energy potential is widely dispersed. if it were easy they'd be doing it more like wind, wouldnt they?

The only draw backs I can see have been made up by the Russians, so may as well drill away.

Well, if as is claimed by some, the protests against fracking were all orchestrated by Putin, now that he's f***ed up the international oil trade he's rather shot himself in the foot.

As I see it, the fracking companies think the UK is not viable for profitable fracking, the locals don't want fracking and the chancellor said that it was not cost effective nor would it lower energy prices for UK consumers... so why is this nonsense being encouraged by Truss and Mogg ? is this some kind of massive distraction in order to slip something else through ?

I strongly suspect you're overestimating their intelligence/competence.

if its not profitable, they'll drill a few tests, pack up and the issue is over. agree about distraction, along with a few other policies, seem designed to trigger many people for no real benefit.
