How soon is now?
The Argus website says this:

Unconfirmed reports suggest the council will not seek a High Court challenge over the Government's decision to grant permission for the 22,500 seat arena.

Sorry, but thats still not enough for me - its "unconfirmed". I'll party when its "confirmed"

we still have to wait until Spetember though, surely someone else can come in an lodge a high court appeal at anytime until 4/9/07.

Only interested parties this time isn't it?

I think we're nearly there....now all we need is 50 million.

if they say no to an appeal then that is it because they are the last interested party to announce. I think only the interested parties can appeal

Great news but what a waste of 2 weeks! You'd think the anti-Falmer alliance would try and coordinate their press statements, rather than bow out one by one gradually. That way they create some goodwill but still keep together as a pressure group during the construction phase.

The SDS have said they'd be keeping careful watch on the development and bringing pressure to bear on the club when necessary - the club would surely feel that pressure more if it had the weight of LDC/FPC/SDS/CPRE/Norman Baker et al simultaneously, but these past couple of weeks have shown the anti-Falmer mob to be the uneasy alliance of convenience they always were.

" The Four Leaf Clover Preservation Society "

" It was announced today that TFLCPS will appeal against the Falmer Stadium through the High Courts. Founder member, Brian Grout said, we have had reports of several sightings of the Four Leaf Clover in the vacinity of the proposed Brighton new stadium. We are presently seeking legal advice and are issuing a " stand up for the 4 leaf " campaign across the World on our webstite today ".

A decision as to whether they have sufficient grounds for an appeal are expected at 11.59 pm on the 3rd of September.

I dunno - but I'm sure Johnny Byrne's Ego can dredge one up. I'm still waiting for his revelation as to why we're going to have to look at Waterhall again.
